The cloud that is the plagiarism claims surrounding Rachel Reeves does have a silver lining for James O'Brien.

After all no-one else is going to claim responsibility for his tome of misery and self-loathing are they?

When I worked on a magazine as a sub we'd get the piece in from 'the talent' and we'd have a certain space in the magazine to fit the copy into. Sometimes that meant making small changes to the text ... changing a word here and there etc. etc. Obviously we tried to be as careful as possible to keep the thing as close to the original as we could but sometimes it was just impossible. God, the amount of times you'd get some precious bleep on the phone ranting and raving and moaning about one little word we changed and how it ruined the whole piece and how they'd never submit anything ever again etc. etc. That's how I imagine James carries on with his publisher ... poor bastards.

I can imagine someone saying to him ... "James, it's for the Xmas market ... can you make it at least a LITTLE but upbeat and positive?" Then him having a full-on bleeping meltdown.

I doubt if he'll tie himself down to a daily show. I'd guess it will be a couple of hours once a week.

It's straight out of the Trump playbook. Albeit on a slightly smaller scale ... Trump used to call into Fox News each morning and they'd let him waffle on, then for the rest of the day the whole station would talk about what he said. Trump created the news-cycle for that day. Boris will probably do the same. Although judging by his pointless column in the Daily Mail where he talks about inane trivialities it might not happen. My guess it'll be tit.

Surely not

Boris Johnson to have show on GBeebies. At some point James is gonna have to admit GB News isn't going away and will probably attract a lot of eyes. Poor James. 😂
Do you think James will do a Matt Stadlen and send his CV in anyway? Or perhaps he already has...

What are the qualifications required to enter ?

More to the point, who can't enter and why ?

It's a just a PR jolly. I wouldn't worry about it. Sangita is bloody dreadful, everyone knows that. I know what you are hinting at though and I can't answer your questions. Why don't you elaborate and get what's on your mind off your chest (is that a mixed-metaphor?). That's what we're here for!

Not strictly LBC but I know several of us turn to Boom Radio when the stress of hearing about doom and misery gets too much. It's an interesting piece in today's Telegraph. Apparently we're being joined by the kidz! Sorry but there's a paywall for non-subscribers.

Jimbo going down some psuedo-intellectual esoteric rabbit-hole. Click-off. The ramblings of a nutter spring to mind. Poor sod is trying to thread the needle of not upsetting David Baddiel, whilst also trying to keep onside all of the Pro-Palestinian luvvies in Shoreditch. So unusual for him not to pick a side and hammer his colours to the mast.

The Isreal/Palestine situation is a political nightmare for him. Keeping hold of his lefty credentials and his Jewish friends is a tightrope.

He's done an interview in The Guardian ...
