How is she spending all that time skiing and drinking when her baby is with her? Must have brought the nanny.

Nearly pissed myself laughing at her comment on Daisy Lowe’s post of her new baby. Laura describes motherhood as the best thing in the world 🤣🤣 Not as good as having an active social life though obvs.
 
I dislike her stupid face. She needs to learn how to parent. Best thing in the world. It will be when your life doesn’t change. You get all the good bits whilst somebody else gets the difficult bits whilst you’re making your west end debut or being papped at another crap awards ceremony where you can plug MON THE IRISH. Bore off Laura. You aren’t relevant.
 
She strikes me as a totally narcissistic, neglectful mother whose daughter will have complex issues when she's older. More than happy to play the "motherhood" card on SM, show the back of her daughter's head ad nauseum in her stories, celebrate her daughter's milestones online, but has made no sacrifices whatsoever for her child and continues to go to envelope openings and red carpet events 5 nights a week and prioritises her TV network and trying to stay in the "inner circle" rather than dealing with the sleepless nights and bottlefeeds and the actual things that her child needs from her.

I have a narcissistic mother who LOVES to performatively tell the world how great a mother she is when she's entirely absent when it comes to actual mothering or support so The Shitmore's "parenting" without actually parenting narrative triggers the crap out of me. Good parents don't need to tell everyone or show everyone how "great" they are at parenting. They just crack on and prioritise their kid and accept that their previous freedom doesn't quite exist in their new family life anymore.
 
She could be alright but it’s the sheer lack of humility in everything she does. Everything is smug, staged, failed attempts to be cool and hip. It’s all so obviously carefully curated that it comes off as pathetic.

Also, some gossip - she has had her personal management pay for some of the set items on her new ITV show (the one that is a one off short term stop gap replacement for Kate Garraway while she’s filming more stuff with Derek)

It was a slight tweak on Kate’s generic ITV chat show / kitchen set, but Whitmore has paid for her own items with her name on to dress the set.

She'll also presumably be very quiet about the fact Myleene Klass, Dermot O’Leary and Vick Hope were amongst those to be asked to host before her.
 
What springs to mind about her is the expression about being nice to people on the way up because you'll meet them on the way back down.

I'm sure there are loads of examples but the nastiness to the reporter about the baby's name, the self-importance about her privacy, while courting attention - all of that is being paid back to her with interest now.

She could probably have had a decent enough career if she had a smidgen of cop on, niceness and / or humility.

She’s promoting this show like it’s been created just for her. Isn’t it the polite thing to acknowledge that you’re just keeping the seat warm for someone else?

She’s just so unlikable, it’s amazing she gets any work.

This is what makes it all the more pathetic. Everything she is known for, she was a replacement, wasn’t her gig.

Love Island she was a stand in, Celeb Juice she was a replacement and even then they drafted Maya in and onto her team as a co captain as it wasn’t working, this new show is a stop gap. She acts as though this stuff is all created by or specifically for her, when in reality she’s just another stand in presenter and not a very good one at that.

She’s been easily surpassed by Maya Jama, Allison Hammond, Angela Scanlon, AJ Odudu and even the likes of Ranvir Singh who has had her contract extended by ITV while Whitmores is being allowed to expire and this chat show is actually being outsourced to a third party production team so she’s not even employed directly for it.

The ones that come up most often are fairly obvious ones, the latest being Bruno Tonioli, not making any friends at all behind the scenes ln BGT auditions. Lorraine Kelly is a bit of a horror outside of her clique too.

Mainly hear stories about z listers being pricks to be honest. Ryan Thomas, Gemma Collins, Gregg Wallace, Nick Grimshaw, James Haskell. Awful.

The bigger surprises are ones you assume to be dicks who are reportedly lovely - Jeremy Clarkson, Myleene Klass, Chris Moyles etc
 
So the show is only on for an hour on a Sunday morning from 8:30 - 9:30. Who watches tv at that time? Who is this aimed at?

I see Oti Mabuse is doing the same show but in the Saturday morning slot so its not Laura's show at all, she's sharing it with another presenter who has the better time slot.

Oti has no background in media, she's is a former dancer on Strictly but being a warmer and more genuine person still manages to be a better bet for ITV than Laura with all her experience.
 
She’s going to be on Loose Women today promoting it so it will be interesting to hear how she’s going to play it

Oti Mabuse has just been on This Morning as she is presenting the Saturday morning equivalent of the show that Laura is doing on Sunday morning. Oti was self-deprecating and not pretending the show was created especially for her
