What is she up to these days? Any actual work on the horizon?
The Beeb are heavily plugging herself and tag-a-long husband on their murders podcast... other than that feck all other than clinging to BFF Sam Barry for exposure and invites to shindigs and occasional 'fashion' shoots.

That advert for their murder podcast pops up constantly on the radio.
I listened to half of one and can't be arsed with another. I found their flippant tone and banter entirely at odds with the subject matter.
No offence to anyone interested in it but I find having an obsessive interest in murder a bit peculiar. It's a horrible thing. Not glamorous.

Presenting hairdresser awards Tuesday night. 🤭 For someone who posts the most mundane aspects of their life even she was too embarrassed to mention this

Yes, I was really shocked when a clip was aired - must have been on her Insta - and they were joking about a murder that happened within the past 20 or 30 years or so. I mean, the victim should have been alive now, and some family etc would still be suffering a terrible loss.

I listened to quite a few of them. They're not all murder, I much prefer the ones that Iain is narrating, but gave up as she is always interrupting him & not as funny as she might think she is. Also the episodes are too short & don't have enough depth to tell the stories in enough detail... but maybe that's just me. The Lady Killers podcast is much better.

I have to admit to being one of those people. The reason I like them is finding out how they solve it and what it takes to finally catch the killers and put them where they belong. It's the same about docs/podcasts about plane crashes like Air Crash Investigation because it shows how the smallest thing that seems trivial can bring down a huge plane and how they go about finding out what it was that caused it.

I get the odd thing though as my family have often called me a nutter for liking stuff like that, especially shows about crashes as I am petrified of flying.

She should be glad of any work she gets, imo. She could possibly have had a decent enough career, if she didn't get in her own way all the time. I wonder does she ever look back and see how she fcuked everything up for herself. Probably not.

Hahaha you are far from alone. Those kind of shows are insanely popular. Murder stories have always been popular. Nothing sells a paper like a serial killer and crime books have always sold well. I used to be fascinated for similar reasons you describe. It’s human nature to try to understand the reasons why someone might do such a thing. It’s also survival instinct to want to know more about how the situation could be avoided.

Since becoming a parent I cannot stand the genre though and always think about how the family might be affected.
Laura and iain were v much jumping on bandwagon. If she has one tiny bit of originality to her and made a half decent series I’d give it a listen. I think she’s an okay presenter of podcasts but it’s clear she’s not interested and it’s all about her.

I posted on the Joanne McNally thread about a true crime podcast she was on about a 13 year old Irish girl that was killed in 2018...some parts were so jokey it really made me think about how hurtful it would be to tve family. I defo couldn't stomach Laura's one!

I saw her ad for the Love and Roses clothes for Next on Facebook and there were v few positive comments under it!

I'd say at this stage any kind of relevance or audience will do for Laura. It's a tough spot she's in in a way, on the TV presenter has-been pile that Fearne Cotton, Cat Deeley etc faced but without any of the charisma, likeability or personality. She's at an age where the general public taking to you kindly and actually wanted to engage with you matters. Fearne forged a great career on podcasting because, well, she's really good at it. She's not self obsessed or weirdly aggressive about her "privacy". Will be an interesting few years for The Whitmore
