I’ve just seen a picture of him. He doesn’t exactly look like he could hold his own if he was in any danger. He’s quite weedy!
No one I babysat for (3 separate families) had a landline, which does seem strange but we didn't have a landline at home either, we didn't get one until around 1995There was such a thing as a landline and a couple of telephone numbers left to call if necessary. Telephones didn't begin with mobiles. Yes, I'm an old fart and I babysat when young.
Omg I know, I babysat from about 14 and it horrified me now, I don't have children myself but I can't imagine anyone I know who does leaving theirs with a 14 year old basically strangerGod yes! Same here with the baby sitting. Sometimes baby sitting actual babies at age 13 with knowing NOTHING about babies
I think parents back then felt comfortable with giving kids responsibility and in turn the kids felt confident.

I have English in-laws who are quite upper crust. Even though fox hunting is now illegal (I believe) they still actively do it on the quiet. They have a country community and it's all very hush hush. I'm Australian and think this is deplorable.I found Phil tolerable 'til I saw images of him fox hunting.
Loved Location x3 in its early years. Good memories of watching with my late Gran!
I wouldn't worry about that, their Parents give them it.I babysat a family of 3 kids from the age of about 13 and they were feral. I would have been better off inter railing my way round Europe. I would never leave my kids with some random teenage girl from down the road. Has that all changed now? I don’t know many families that use babysitters but the ones that do tend to use staff from the nursery so professional childcare workers rather than randoms from the estate which was the case when I was younger. How do teenage girls earn money for cider these days?
You do know that there is such a thing as a mock hunt where the 'fox' is a person with a scent that the hounds follow?I have English in-laws who are quite upper crust. Inter-railing?
Sounds like a rich person's hobby.
I did it around Germany as a student in the early 1980s.On the contrary. It's popular mostly for the youth to travel in Europe. You buy a pass and hop on trains. An Interrail Pass allows you to travel freely around Europe for a period of up to three months.
