I bet she is having a meltdown right now. (And yes, while I think it can be hard having to live up to the expectation of the masses and feeling that you are always being judged more, your official job title is an 'online influencer' and you should be using that 'influence' to make the world a better place. Open criticism is part of the role but so is getting an absurd amount of money for simply posting a picture on Instagram 🤷‍♀️ every job has their pros and cons)

I agree it must be hard living up to the masses and to not feel hurt by the criticism. At the same time, I feel like a lot of what she does is tone deaf. Worrying about her holidays during a pandemic, showing off her fast fashion hauls where the worker conditions during the pandemic have been criticised and unnecessary expenditure has been discouraged, buying a kitten instead of adopting...she seems to be in her own bubble and ignorant to the world around her.

I swear she chose the name purely to set up the Instagram account called 'Dr Maurice will see you now'. Bet she was chuffed to bits with that. Maybe 'G' suggested it and she giggled like a little girl because she found it so funny.
 
Really hope she actually did ‘do her research’ around keeping an indoor cat happy. I have a (mostly) indoor cat myself (I say ‘mostly’ because she does have access to the garden when I’m home but she’s never shown any interest in going further). He’ll need a lot of stimulation and exercise through plenty of play time and different toys, cat furniture so he can climb, scratching posts, an eye kept on his diet because he won’t be using as much energy... the list goes on. Plus, being a male cat he’ll have the desire to roam once he’s ‘mature’ which might make him a bit stressed until he’s neutered (I’m assuming they’ll choose to do that). For some reason I just don’t trust that this was a well thought out decision.

I love that 'G' is always put in inverted commas 😂 It just always sounds so wrong and doesn't suit him!

I'm already sick of that account name (@drmauricewillseeyounow), and it's actually also reminded me not to post as many pics of my cats. They're bleeping cute, but it gets old for other people very fast.

Honestly, it would pain me to write it without the inverted commas. He's called Geoff ffs, there is no making that cool.

Imagine Dr Maurice escaping and Katie and Geoff pounding the streets of London screaming 'DR MAURICE, DR MAURICE, HERE BOY! DR MAURICE WHERE ARE YOU BOY????'
 
As someone who hasn't left the house since March, except for once a day to walk the dog at a very local park, I find it particularly galling that they haven't even attempted to self-isolate since returning from France. Not only that, they have been to the breeders, to get coffee and she's been to a hair salon!

It's really poor form. They came back the day before France was put on the quarantine list. Probably delighted with themselves with their timings
 
The cats name is horrendous! I cringe 😬 every time I hear/read it 🙄 just awful.

I noticed she only said she researched the breed they wanted not what is actually involved in owning and keeping a cat 🐈 she moans about a lot I hope she can handle cleaning up cat sick, cleaning out the litter tray regularly ect.. it isn’t pretty 🤢

Bit concerning the drop of the ‘stage/balcony’ area in the flat, quite a fall for such a small kitten 🐱 I hope they don’t let him up there too often and supervise when he is.

and I do think it’s right for people to question how she portrayed an ‘Adoption’ of a kitten when In reality she basically chose a kitten she liked the look of and bought it.. there was no mention of looking for ages for the right cat, going to rescue centres but getting turned down and so they bought one instead ...
I think they got bored in lockdown, went on the internet, looked at cute breeds of cat and bought one they wanted .. it also happens to be a very cute cat that will have appeal for Instagram pics and video content ... nobody would be as interested in say a black cat that are very common and rescues are absolutely full of!
No we don’t want an instagram account for their cat and no we don’t want videos on how he is doing... it’s just another way for her to make money 💵 at the end of the day..

I honestly thought she would have quarantined after the holiday. So disappointing and now this buying a cat / acting like it was an adoption but turned out to be a breeder thing... I dunno. I thought she was better than that 🙁
 
I don't think she's given much thought at all to what owning a cat entails. She brought him into an apartment full of plants, some of them potentially poisonous.

I unfollowed Katie following the kitten post- I just can’t believe some people have such an inflated sense of self importance that they feel they have to do a “myself and G would like to introduce you all to our kitten, we are so excited for this journey blah blah blah” post. It felt so creepy and I feel a bit sorry for that kitten who has obviously been bought for it’s “instagrammability”

we have a black rescue kitten (well he has just turned 1) and I’ve been horrified to learn about black cats being the least wanted kind of cat, no just for the stupid superstition reasons but because they aren’t instagrammable because they don’t photograph well- like this is actually a thing now :(

also, if Katie is stressed now I’m so excited to see how she fairs with “naughty kitten adolescence stage” especially with it being a housecat- mwahahha !!

Same, I usually find her a bit more moral and with better values than other YouTubers. I hated how she kept her hamster in that old fashioned tiny cage though, that should've been a warning sign. I think her values are going down the drain now - the adoption lie and the lack of self-isolation after France - both completely horrible.

Most likely 'G' is not a good influence. I've noticed that people often use this insult on this forum but this is my first time: he definitely seems like a Tory! :ROFLMAO:
