I wouldn't be surprised if the wedding planning has been emotionally difficult for her, considering her previous engagement. It would be completely natural for trying on dresses etc to have triggered something if her ex was abusive, as she's mentioned before. I just hope she does something, other than eating carbs and giggling at the cat, to help herself.
 
I totally agree with a lot of the sentiments here that it seems like she’s really struggling, but she needs to be doing different things to help herself. Being routinely on medication definitely isn’t for everyone (I’ve been on antidepressants for my entire adult life and am INCREDIBLY grateful that I respond well to them with minimal side effects and am able to live my life as I should because of them), but there’s always the option of a low dose for a short amount of time to tide her over, especially if she isn’t able to find a therapist that works for her right now (even private waiting lists are a bit bananas). She definitely needs to be kinder to herself, but just not in the way she thinks that means. Put down your camera, try to sort out your sleep and eating/digestive issues, partake in your life instead of filming it. Katie does my nut in sometimes but poor mental health is horrendous, and it’s horrible to see her struggling.

So, here we go. My round-up of Katie's round-up.

I actually really like the Bold Type (a few years older than Katie). It can be silly at times but it touches on some important topics, and also it's not like SATC wasn't silly at times. Sometimes you just want to watch something girly and the BT hits the spot!

Very bleeping well done. There are so many people to whom a takeaway is really a proper treat yet she just post a picture of one every few days, mixed in with going to Marcus Wareing's restaurant and having a gifted steak meal. Insensitive much?

So irresponsible. She waited for the flowers to be in full bloom before removing them from the garden. Poor Morris. Is anyone else worried he's not going to reach maturity if she continues like this?

The amount of plastic waste! I imagine they could have a catering person in full PPE serving these to the family on normal plates, or a designated family member could put on a mask and some gloves and serve it for the rest?

I completely empathize that people can suffer with depression for no apparent reason other than thats how their brain works, but i've noticed that Katie has been on a slight downward trend ever since she moved out of the house with her friends.

I think Katie is dissatisfied with her career because she does not perceive herself to be successful, and I kind of agree with this. Although she lives a privileged life (lots of freebies) I don't think by influencer standards she is 'big'. Her channel hasn't grown much and I think she has reliazed that she is not successful at the things she is passionate about (I don't think she stopped her true crime series because she couldn't be bothered, but because she was disheartened by the views compared to her other videos).

I think most can agree that people work well under a bit of pressure. When she was single, she had to rely on her own income to support herself and thus there was some pressure to work and get content out. I do think G makes enough money to support them - i've always had the impression that he paid 100% of the rent at their flat, as Katie doesnt earn a 'set' amount each month. I think the fact that she did not have to worry about supporting herself has taken the pressure off and she has lost all motivation. She has even admitted that she is dissatisfied with her content and is not motivated to make any.

I think this combination is whats causes her to feel like she is in a rut and has probably triggered some depression, but she does not acknowledge that her lifestyle is causing it because she doesnt want to give up the easiness/flexibility/perks of the job.

NB - this is obviously just speculative observation
 
Scanchx - I really like your insight. It happens to a lot of content creators, doesn't it? You'd think that the freedom of not having to worry about if and where the income is coming from would help them to produce even better content - because they can now do what they like without worrying if it will pay the bills or not, but it's often quite the opposite. So interesting!
 
The baby shower was very OTT in my opinion. I noticed there wasn’t any photos of just Katie and her sister? And the photos there were seemed rushed and forced. But there was a ridiculous time lapse of Katie and Geoff horsing around.
Also agree about the excessive food and plastic waste. Surely a box or platter of food/afternoon tea per household would have been better.
