I think he's just playing along. Just being nice because it's the last service at his flagship restaurant so why not pop out and mingle with the people who paid small fortunes to be there. I always thought he was strict and quite cold on Master Chef, I think this here is just playing along to create some social media engagement, which is definitely welcome before his new business venture is announced.
He probably gets tagged a lot though. I hope her sis and husband weren't just in PJ's, can you imagine feeling that underdressed in your own home? Also, even with family, I'd check the dress code, just casually, you know, hey sis, what are you wearing? A nice dress, cosy jumper and leggings, or...?
