The judge is not falling for something, it's mitigating factors written into law and the sentencing guidelines. The law probably needs changing for people who keep doing this but it's not special treatment.

My bat forgot she got the suspended for flipping the car it was when she was in court for breach of restraining order still under the motoring suspended that she got off.

Strange that they haven't managed to find this hidden stash she has though! How many people can pull out 38K to avoid a custodial sentence? We're not likely to know the outcome of the private hearing ( if she actually bothered to turn up that is) but she if she can fund these expensive barristers etc then there IS money somewhere. I hope the HMRC keep on digging regardless.
I agree with you though, these judges going soft on her is making the legal system look ridiculous - especially in light of people with no previous convictions being jailed for posting supportive messages online during those riots!! For all those who remember the Fun Boy Three - the lunatics have taken over the asylum!!

As I put up in that CPS table before, her blood alcohol level (66mg) did not warrant a prison sentence. Her sentence was pushed close to prison time though....probably because they did look at what she's done before. It's not great I agree but she's not getting special treatment... Thanks, I was writing another reply about her possibly doing a deal, pleading guilty to the booze only - I don't think this happened. She admitted the alcohol and the roadside breath test proved the amount. A drug wipe was done but that doesn't prove amounts, so it's not as easy to prove. She then refused a blood test but Police/ CPS are not going to mess about trying to get a conviction for the drugs when the outcome for all of it would be a driving ban.

According to a local copper, there are only 2 labs in the UK that test blood for drug tests which is why it takes so long for results to come back.
If she kicked off about her fake needle phobia, it would have easier to go with the drink driving than bail her while waiting for blood results for exactly the same result.
I think suspensions are pretty generic but fines are up to the judge taking lots into account. Was the fine amount in the press ? I can't remember anything anymore 😂
