I think Kat is a classic example of generational trauma. She had a terrible relationship with her mother, almost no contact I seem to remember. Probably very little maternal love from her mother, which has impacted her ability to have a normal relationship with her children. She's very detached and cold and has fled from them as soon as she could.
 
Listened to the mini podcast so no one else has to put themselves through it 😂

She got to a point where she was tired of compromise and had a conversation with the ex about having a third of their lives left for new adventures which would make them happy.

Says a few times “when I made the decision”.

Says they were happy, then content, and they wanted to be happier. No one did the other wrong.

(Lost the will to live 4 minutes in so reckon the rest was blah, blah, blah, adventure, blah, blah, blah, compromise, blah.)

Lockdown was the beginning of the end. HRT was a catalyst as “it gave herself back.

Just wanted to add a few things to Brummiebird's excellent analysis.

Kat mentions that when she tells people she is getting divorced they say: "I'm sorry" as if she has failed. She hates this pity and feels she has done something positive and even felt a sense of relief once she and the husband had decided to split.

When people say it's a shame the children have lost their family home, she has no time for that. "They still have a roof over their heads" and they are in their late teens.

She adds that unlike others she has always been financially independent from her husband and so has the capability of leaving without too much loss of lifestyle.

That's about as much as I could take. She comes across as hard, self absorbed and with a very fragile ego.

Agree with the above. She comes across as very hard and unpleasant. She’s quite angry that some ‘people’ 👋 question her. Apparently feeling sorry for her kids having to split their time, is a case of diamond shoes being too small.

Kat, in recent years has come across as very grabby and always looking for the next thing. It appears she did that with her family life too.

I can’t believe how much she’s changed over the years/ exposed her real side/ my eyes have opened.

She needs to read or look at "shedreamsofgucci" instagram. Recently split from hubby, who I think from jist of it, did the dirty on her. Her insta posts are much more dignified, Kat needs to take a leaf out of her book! Has lost weight, but isn't scrawny, looks after herself and doesn't chat tit about her kids.

Well done for listening to the Podcast as I can't listen, its just crap and yes that voice! Who the hell commissioned the podcast, they need to be shot!!

Have to say having just listened I thought ‘fair play’ and they seem to have dealt with it really well - although we are only hearing her side!
It does feel like she’s moved on and thinks her parenting duties are over which seems weird to me. And where’s the dog? I’d love to know where she’s moved to, maybe she’ll show us one day! Agree with others about the plastic skirts - yuk!!
 
She appears to be happy with the divorce. If her ex is a financial type hopefully they can apportion the marital spoils fairly and avoid bringing in the vicious lawyers to wreak havoc.
Kat seems to like new beginnings so is content to find a different home and begin a fresh foray into the future. She's looking ahead to being a free agent able to make additional friends, forge wider business opportunities, go on holiday when and where she likes with some parenting now and then.

You imply her husband prevented her from doing all that?
