Deleting comments and replying by PM isn’t the issue really is it, many people do that on insta. The issue here is the blocking…..

I think it is part of the issue though. Instagrammers deleting comments and trying to get rid of negative feedback is one of the reasons people post on here.

I bet Kat is freaking out and very pissed at whomever said it. Despite her not saying it herself, it really reflects on her and the brand she has been so carefully building. She is soooo annoyingly pc that she can barely give an opinion (only able to buy a second home bc her mum left money to her etc.,). Afraid to offend anyone. Well Kat, many are offended through your Instagram post and you are desperately (and shamefully) trying to make it disappear by deleting comments that are rightly critical of you. Owning up to what happened (kind of?) on stories (which are already gone) and not allowing comments to remain on your page because they reflect your association with someone who made a racist remark exposes you as someone who is not quite who you seemed to be.

She’ll ride the storm and it will blow over.
We could spend our time lobbying M&S, P&O etc et. For those of us who know professionally her husband we can (and I will) make it known that his behaviour was not acceptable on the sense that even if it wasn’t him, by not condemning he is condoning.
But still they’ll benefit of the privilege of being white, middle aged, middle class male called David, Stephen or Chris, Accountant/lawyer (delete -as appropriate) working in a big four firm, or married to aforementioned. Not one f**k given for anyone who isn’t white/male/middle class/professional.

I think that’s the depressing thing, white people can get away with anything (I’m white) whereas POC get held to much higher standards which is ridiculously unfair and racist. I’ve sent a message to esteelaundry, they probably won’t publish anything but it’s worth a shot.

I messaged M&S yesterday but haven’t heard anything back. Is there anyone who calls out influencers? I can’t think of any of the top of my head but wondering if someone else with a platform would be a good place to go

Is Diet Prada also one of these platforms?

I’m so pleased to see some of the comments above. I’ve just joined here today and keep getting deleted 🤦🏽‍♀️ Haven’t worked out all the posting rules and what I can and can’t say sorry! But heartening to see people have been contacting brands. I’m a POC and was very upset.

I'm a white lady and I was gobsmacked at the comment that came up on her insta. I straight away thought, "you cannot say things like that & the tit is going to hit the fan!" Can't believe she didn't proof read before posting. Silly, silly lady! Deleting and blocking people just shows her true colours and that she is not as transparent as people think and that she obviously cannot deal with negativity! Don't worry ladies/men who are POC, she'll be trying to justify herself by promoting their brands for BLM!! I really hope this is her downfall, along with a few others who absolutely grate on me. The whole trip was just a white, privileged, middle class jolly!! Dresses are shite too!!

Has anyone here who was deleted and blocked had a PM from her? If so, what did it say?

She used to go on MN when there was a long running thread on Instagrammers there and would thank people for comments, making out she was taking on feedback. Shame there isn't a thread there now, she would be conspicuous by her absence I am sure.

Hideous woman and hideous crowd. Complete bunch of arseholes.

M&S’s response to me:

Blimey, waffle waffle waffle, without actually saying anything. Get to the point, mate! They'll tell her to be more careful in future, she will and that will be the end of it.

I've been reassured by the response on here - Kat's thread has never been so "popular". :D The frantic posting last night smacks of panic so I do think this has been a major irritation for her. I have to say, I'm glad about that even though it makes me a major cowbag. 😬 She's dropped the mask several times and has reacted in exactly the same way with the delete, block, pretend it never happened. She promotes middle of the road stuff with the odd free trip thrown in where you and your posse have to gush about everything and nothing. It seems so empty and vapid and not worth the effort. There are very few "influencers" who have anything interesting or original to say. The vast majority are just completely interchangeable.

Oh, and going doolally over Eurovision doesn't suddenly make you relatable. :)

That response from M&S is totally unacceptable. The comment ‘we’re sorry this offended you’. Racism is racism. It’s wrong, cruel and moreover it’s illegal. You can’t badge it as something you are either offend about or not depending on how you feel. Everyone should find it deplorable and everyone has a role in calling it out.

The brands will do nothing. It wasn't Kat that made the comments, they don't represent her views, yadda yadda yadda. It was either David Farmer, a partner at PWC Legal or Jamie Gunning a partner at Sq.One Real Estate, that is the vile racist, ignorant twit.
