Regarding L.A. (Without doing a Karla and being all superior) it wasn’t for me. We went as part of an East-West Coast trip a few years ago and stayed on the outskirts but drove around. Hollywood Boulevard was FILTHY, full of very aggressive men hassling you to go on tours, full of homeless opening smoking drugs, really not what I had imagined. The Hollywood sign was underwhelming also. We stayed for 2 nights (3 days) and I saw all I needed to and never feel the need to go back ever again. Just my personal opinion though.
