Finding it hard to bother watching GOBs AD-mas output, I bet she is seeing a decline in views. I see on a thumbnail that she's partying with Robert Elms. I'm guessing it's more advert than content.

Listening back to bits of last night's show. Neil and Matthew from Darlington are on, turns out they have just moved to a canal boat, currently moored in Uxbridge. They are proper attention seekers, they ring in to all the shows and seem quite keen to be a thing but presumably get on when no one else calls in. They asked GOB and Mel over for a candle lit supper. They recently also asked to be on Chewin the Fat, after GOB said they might do one with listeners. Perhaps we Tattlers should try to get on :p

I do, however, like regular caller Phillip from Amsterdam, he seems like a really lovely and thoughtful man. GOB gets good mileage from him when she needs to fill air time. He said he remembered an Amsterdam postman who was an Englishman so they thought it might have been GOBs brother, who retired as a postman there a couple of years ago. She said he is two years older than her.

A listener emailed asking GOB why they've not yet seen her appearance on Celeb Pointless. She thinks it might be shown this Christmas, despite being filmed November 2021. She and her team mate Sarah Green did not do well, and GOB turned up without makeup to find there was no MUA due to Covid, so smeared bits of Sarah's makeup on.

Just watched it, not much content once you skip the Hello Fresh flog. Yes, dear ol Hello Fresh. 🙄

She went to a dinner party at David someone who used to be editor at Radio London. The one who got her the job in the first place. Didn’t she displace Danny Baker and there was a hue and cry? Robert and Christina Elms were there. And Tony Blackburn. He doesn’t look well. I like Tony but his face looks like a melted candle - has he had a stroke? He looks like he needs to slow down. Dull vlog.

@House of Tea Hello Fresh, really? How tragic. She is shillin' for a different brang each vlog, might be for Cherryz outlet centre on day 31.

So she was at a party where Bob and Christina were fellow guests, the thumbnail looked as if she and Bobby from the Barb were socialising together, I'm sure he barely tolerates her as a colleague but sees her as handy to promote his wife's ventures, eg as QiGong guru and vintage clothing seller.

Poor old Tony Blackburn, might have to watch it to see him. He is very old and seems to still work qite a lot uncomplainingly.

During Chewin' the Fat GOB said that she's doing a series of audio books next year. God knows what sort of book her voice would be suitable to narrate. She asked one of the contributors how to approach it, eg if she should do different voices for each character. She only has two voices, her raspy old everyday voice, droppin' Gs and her quasi QVC tone.

I could not be bothered staying in a hotel for one night by the time you check in (usually mid afternoon) it will be time to check out again (mid morning) surely she could stretch to two nights if she did not spend so much on clothes.

She could probably stay for a fortnight if she stopped buying hideous coats, shoes and bags for a month or two....and indulging in Cle de Peau moisturisers and Scandinavian pampering that doesn't come from Scandinavia 😏

It seemed a bit sad that she was there alone with her dog instead of a partner. It's clearly a romantic getaway for couples.

I disagree. I think its great she goes there on her own. It obviously holds great memories for her. It’s a great location, dog friendly, they know her (and gave her an upgrade). Being with a partner is not the be all and end all in life. Your longest relationship will always be with yourself, it’s the one that matters. I really admire people who are self reliant and can go anywhere on their own without feeling that they stick out or people look at them and think they are lonely. I am not her greatest fan but admire her for going places solo.

I agree with @House of Tea that I admire GOB for taking breaks on her own. She also does trips with groups of friends, eg Mallorca, Kenya and is apparently off to Austria again next year. I find it easy to travel on business by myself but for some strange I reason feel very self-conscious if I am on a leisure trip alone.

I watched the vlog and I understand your point @Lilas as she seemed to be mentioning the couples aspect of the place quite a lot, possibly because of the big suite with double baths that she was upgraded to, plus she noted that all the older couples had nothing to say to each other. It does seems like a romantic type of place but it also offers the spa facility that would make it a destination for others. Personally, with all the soft furnishing, fabric drapery and the dog friendly policy I wouldn't book somewhere like that unless I knew it had just had a very deep, top to bottom clean, presumably at that price point it would be taken care of.

I don't think it's sad to go away just with the dog either. I've done it a number of times - with dog or just by myself. Especially if it's somewhere with a spa attached, it sounds like a perfect getaway to me. Mind you, I would want to be staying for at least a couple of nights.

I've often travelled alone for business, in the UK and ROI.

Since my wife died I've got used to doing things alone, like trips to the theatre when it's not something any of my friends are interested in. I did feel a bit self-conscious the first time, but needn't have worried as the woman sitting next to me was on her own too.

I am married and have friends but when I lived in the West End my treat to myself was going to the theatre or cinema on my own. GOB has a lot of friends, which she could have invited, but I think she does like her own company too.

That sort of hotel does not appeal to me to stay in, it feels dark, oppressive, chintzy - although I appreciate the history and the aesthetics of the outside. A meal yes, an overnight stay no. And I get what @VeeJayBee says about the deep clean. All the draperies etc lend itself to dust, not to mention dog hair.

I am seeing the Clary pantomime this week. I’ll keep an eye out for GOB.
Darling, she's going to the press night tonight. On last night's show she told Mel to play a long opening track tonight so she can make it back to the studio in time. Said she's not going to the after party, strange she didn't take the night off for that.

BTW enjoy the show @House of Tea

She’ll sweep up and go to the freebie ticket desk and say in her faux posh voice, tickets for Joanne Good.

I am looking forward to it. Missed it because of covid, it was our Xmas treat. Bloody train strike though. Have to drive in!

I like doing that too. I've just been on a city break abroad by myself, the first time I've done this. It was great fun and felt very empowering.

Enjoy the panto. Daughter and I saw Julian Clary and Lily Savage together in pantomime a few years ago. It was fabulous
I did too. It was at the Palladium, Clary and his ensemble cast (Nigel Havers, Paul Zerdin, Gary Willmott) do one every year. They are the core and each year they are joined by some big names. The Clary/Savage one was so good. Dawn French was in one too, which I saw, and she is in this year’s too.

Yes! I saw Lily in Aladin at the 02 arena a couple of years previous to the one with Julian Clary. Both were well worth the £££s
