Well, not one way if you google it. And especially when it comes to Jim. He used to call his ex-wife Tarrrn instead of Tan, so I wouldn't be so sure.

Agreed, no reason at all. Don't know why it matters so much what's the right way to pronounce it, as it's up to the parents to decide how to do it. So, let's hear from them
 
I have to say I'm kinda impressed with how they announced it. Jim didn't say she's obsessed with him (yet!), Sarah included a nice note for her midwives and we haven't seen the little girl's face yet!
And in his latest story Jim looks knackered (to be expected), but happy.

Okay, he could've mentioned Sarah, tit move not to do so, but at least he's not (yet!) living the insta-#dadlife like Alfie 🤮
Or like Zoe sharing that Pay peed through her nappie 🙄 Guess Zalfie will go all Saccone Joly, hoping these guys here keep it relatively classy (as far as you can expect that from influencers 🤷‍♀️).

For some reason I expected Jim to be way worse than Alfie. Fingers crossed he doesn't go all "look at my delicious daughter!!! She's ObsESseD with me".

I do prefer Margot over Otterly too.

I thought the same. I think the September birthday thing was discussed (at length!) in the Zoe thread when she first announced - mostly relating to how a September birth is often more desired. It will be interesting to watch the difference in experiences when it comes to it. If Zoe decides to defer, she could bring good awareness to that option for summerborn kids. If she doesn’t, we’re gonna get the #backtoschool ads a year earlier!

That was a lovely photo tbf. Jim not pulling one of his 'model' faces.
I am happy for them. I like Sarah, and think she seems sensible enough to stop little Margot being completely overexposed.

Lol everyone, including Tanya, generally always pronounce her name Tarn-ya and not Tan-ya though so the nickname makes sense?

I really hope for the sake of Margot and Ottilie that their parents have stopped being influencers by then! (Naive of me to hope maybe 😅)
 
Proper snooze fest of a name. Margot is so over done and Grace your standard "filler" middle name (except where in honour of someone in the family etc). Alba is nice though.

Is it true if they defer they actually skip to the right year afterward or am I getting confused how it works. Anyone know?

Ahhhhh massive no to Alfie. That’s the problem if you pick a foreign name that has not been common in your tounge for a long time while having no connection to the country/culture/language. They even claimed it’s French. It’s not. Doesn’t matter some baby websites say it is. I doubt they did much research either. It’s German. The French version is Odile. As have tons of German and French posters pointed out. Ottilie might be pronounced like this if you just read in English, but they have an international following and therefore there was a lot of confusion. And yes, people that know the name and it’s originating pronunciation will point out its not actually correct. Now, it seems Ottilie will be used more in the UK nowadays and the pronunciation will get normalised. But till then, it will lead to confusion, raised eyebrows and snickers.

I love Margot (the English way, definitely not so much in my tounge). It has been flouting around for some time and I know some adorable small Margots.
