It's a very strange set up. So MIL is basically acting as a nanny.

I wondering if James mum was a more normal hands on mum (she was horrified Maeva woulndt try to BF). And Maeva had more of a nanny's and boarding school upbringing.

If maeva was brought up being palmed off on nanny's then she probably doesn't see what she is doing as wrong. Maybe James mum was horrified about Maeva wanting a nanny so early and so said she would do it.

I have a 2 yr old and she's spent 1 night away from me. Everyone needs a break but I find this whole scenario unbelievable and really feel for little Beau.

I read somewhere that despite James’ family

The baby has Maeva’s large, very low down placed pixie-style bat wing ears, because he’s so small his ears are pretty much in his neck. I’d never noticed them on her before she had him & she hides them with her hair but once you do see them, it’s hard not to unsee them.

Maeva wants you all to know she is tired of the comments about letting Beau sleep with a duvet (per her stories). Not addressed the pillows. She insists she's awake the whole time.

I feel like they are overloading sponsored baby content atm but I suppose they have to play catch-up for the time he was away.

Maeva thinks she can do both - still have the same life and a baby. She doesn’t want to do the hard work that a baby requires. Fair enough if they had a nanny but this is all so unfair on the mother in law - I really hope that she offered

I barely wanted to shower cos I didn’t want to be away from my daughter when she was that age but Maevas had 10 days away from him and since getting him back she’s had another 2 nights out

I'm actually shocked at how poorly they appear to be parenting. To all those who said it'll be the making of Maeva (on the show I mean) what an absolute joke. I thought she was brilliant entertainment value but I'm pretty disgusted with her now. It's not just Maeva either, James doesn't exactly appear to be Father of the Year considering he went skiing and then when he came back didn't take care of Beau either.

That baby will have no idea who she is. So cruel.

Literally. Baby will be confused whether Maeva or the MIL is his mother.

Whilst I don’t believe that women can ‘trap’ a man into having a baby (they need to take responsibility for their own contraception if they don’t want a baby) it’s clear James wasn’t ready for a baby and would not have chosen this, but he’s being a dick for not being a decent parent. Beau did not choose to come into this world and James needs to take some responsibility for his child and not just let (his) mummy do it all.

And I don’t understand Maeva at all because she was so desperate to settle down and have a baby. I think she planned this and Beau was no accident to her. Yet the reality has hit her hard but again, rather than step up it’s back to her old life already and it’s Beau that suffers.

If you had a good bond and attachment to your newborn I just don’t understand why you would want to be apart from them for long periods, no matter how tired you are.

So many decent men would love to have longer than the two weeks paternity leave and race home to be with their babies after work. Does James work full time and has now had Friday night out with Maeva?
I wonder if James still expects a certain standard from Maeva (dates, looking hot, sex) and she is putting him first.

I’m not a Mom or so I don’t know anything about when nannys are hired but at least they are paid for what they do. I doubt the mother in law is being compensated. Either way they seem like crappy parents

She’s so childish and needy that I’m really surprised she was begging James for a baby. What was her thoughts?? A baby would keep him with her? She’s been a terrible mum so far. Considering she was shouting I want a baby for ages. She’s so high maintenance as well I was so shocked when she kept saying she wanted a baby. Has her mum even met beau yet!?
