I have 3 kids aged 26, 25 and 16. The older two were weaned at 3 months as that was the way we were told to do it back then. By the time my youngest was born a whole load of ‘rules’ had changed, including weaning. My son therefore didn’t get weaned until almost 6 months. Happy to report they are all thriving, healthy and well.

Yeah I know I’m too old to be watching MIC .. but #guiltypleasure

PS Not Maevas biggest fan at all, but weaning guidelines do seem to go through changes over the years
That’s fair but if the NHS advice has been to wean at 6 months/when they can sit unaided for over 15 years then it’s not like the rules are changing all the time and she can’t keep up

You're not too old at all 😊, I was reading these comments and thought exactly the same. I also have 3 children aged 25, 24 and 17 and I was also told to wean my 2 eldest at 3/4 months , I can always remember the health visitor telling me to start off with baby rice ! Lol, my 17 year old didn't get weaned until 6 months as like you said - rules had changed , mine also had no problems with this and are all well.

My opinion is that she is French and she is following French guidelines so fair enough. And like others have already said it didn’t do British children any harm when that was the guidance here.
BUT I do think that she has probably started weaning him at 4 months on the DOT because she finds being his mum so boring that she wants something else to do/talk about/post. And I also think that she bloody loves the controversy so she can then call out the ‘trolls’ just as others predicted she would here!

One of the reasons the weaning age is now 6 months is because weaning too early can affect the gut as it’s not mature enough and cause life long issues. It’s been 3 years since I last weaned a baby so I’ve forgotten the details to what the issues are! But if this is correct I’m surprised France are still advising weaning at 4 months.

I haven’t posted in here but sometimes watch the mess unfold. I can’t help but laugh at the latest nasty video. She knows what she’s doing? Wow! Where am I going wrong? My daughter is 15 and I still wouldn’t say I know what I’m doing. Confident statement coming from someone who has probably only spent 2 months with their 4 month old 😂 The poor Beebe

I think privately weaning early is one thing ( although it seems strange to do something which might potentially damage your baby) but as an influencer to publicise something which goes again long standing NHS guidelines is hugely irresponsible. It also seems unlikely to me that the French guidelines are 4 months. It’s been 6 months in the UK for a long time and for good reason.

I googled it and it does say in France guidelines are 4 months 😩

I am French and yes most of people starts solid at 4 months (some even earlier). I live in the UK and I had to explain to every single members of my family why you should not start before 6 months as I kept having questions/comments 🙄. French are still quite old fashion with children. They don't look at different way to do something it is very much "we always done it that way, and we aren't dead" 🫣
Hamstouille (that company who sponsor her) uses all the influencers in France to be known.

But yeah she needs to stop with these rants. Makes her sounds immature/childish/tacky to shout at her phone like a lunatic. I can't imagine James's family really loving her way of being always angry 😬.
