Yeah the SIL is giving me Regina George vibes definitely think she’s smug that she’s the last woman standing.

I think Matt enjoyed a Florida trip in the way most people would, but definitely played up to it for their image and for the free trips. I think if he met someone new, he’d be open to going to new places.

As for the breakup…I feel bad for both of them. On the one hand, it was very sudden which must’ve been awful. And it does seem pretty self preserving playing up to the husband role like 2 days before (still leaving gushy Insta comments etc). But equally, we’ve seen first hand how dismissive Jade has been in the past and if a person keeps dismissing your feelings and emotions, you give up trying. And being in lockdown together, it was probably easier for him to keep up the act until everything was sorted and he could just go.

Also I think from what Jade has shown us (unless it’s been pretend) she has a weird view on arguing and fights. She counts the fact that her and Matt don’t shout and scream at each other to mean they don’t argue, but that ‘bicker tiff’ deffo sounded like one to me, she just gave it a cute name. I wonder if she had the same simplistic view towards breakups. ‘Matt’s in a mood…oh well, divorce only happens when couples are screaming at each other and someone has moved into the spare room’

I think breaking someone’s heart is always going to be hard and I’m not sure if there’s any easier way he could’ve gone about it. I think even if Matt sat down and said ‘I’m thinking of leaving you if things don’t improve’ she’d have still been blindsighted and that in itself would probably be enough to ruin the relationship, as knowing your partner was thinking of leaving you must be soul crushing. It would be hard to move on.

For what it’s worth, I do think Matt was genuine in May 2020 when they said they were the happiest they’d ever been. But I think being at home too long with each other (when they weren’t used to it) and the novelty of lockdown wearing off was the kiss of death. If lockdown had never happened I think they’d be coasting along like normal.

As for the weddings, I think Jade was desperate to get in first because it’s probably how she always pictured it. Her and Matt were saving for their house, so it seemed like they were heading in the direction of an engagement and she probably hadn’t even given the BIL a second though about getting married. She probably saw herself as the first Mrs Eden, the first one to get married on both sides of the family etc etc.

Do we know if Matt’s brother is older or younger? If he’s younger then maybe she felt a bit threatened. The younger bro is getting married and j and m who’ve been together years still haven’t

My partner’s SIL has been very territorial about the fact she’s been around a lot longer than me. I wonder if Jade was the same (all through fake passive aggressive sissy comments though ). How she’s been a part of Matt’s family for 6/7 years

What Mark81 said above about the guys doing the worship thing with girls when they are young is so true, I've seen that shit show go down many many times and it always ends up in divorce later on when the guy realizes they just can't emotionally deal with constantly catering to the whims of their wife.

Yeah so true! I won’t watch Disney vlogs if they’ve got kids in. I enjoyed Jade and Matt’s because they’re an adult couple, but things like that weird exercise montage and Matt constantly going on about how hot his wife is made me cringe.

I think there’s a lotttttt of kids that watch Disney vlogs. They’re also more likely to frequently rewatch the vlogs over and over. They saw where the views were and played up to it with the fairytale couple image.

And yep I agree, she kept her age quiet to appear younger.

Agreed! I do think the split has come out of the blue for Jade as they have just had all the home renovations completed.
If Matt had any sense he would have put them on hold whilst he figured things out.
They have either spent savings or finaced the kitchen which Matt could have used to set up again or he's now stuck paying off a kitchen.

I did that with my ex, I unfollowed all his friends and family even though I had no hard feelings. It just hurt too much to see him in the background of their stories randomly during my day so I avoided it at all costs. BUT now with her SIL on here acting that way, it obvious that Jade was aware of tension between her and SIL before the split. It’s not like Matt left her and then his family switch up on her and started bashing her. She knew enough to unfollow them from the get go.

This has probably been mentioned before at some point, but if there was already tension with his family, from the weddings or otherwise, fulled by the SiL, and then lockdowns made that worse due to Matt simply seeing them less, Then his family sees that video with the pictures in the garage? Add to that if his parents are like some and stuck on having grandkids which Matt's brother and SiL do, and Matt and Jade don't. I can just see multiple factors causing her to unfollowing them, even out of self preservation.

MATT UPDATE; so I took one for the team & I went in to the club today for a tour... I only got lucky & ended up with Matt touring me I must admit he does seem way happier (& does look good with the stubble) I’m now in two minds about joining

Haven’t commented in a while. I only ever watched Jade’s Florida Vlogs as I’m not interested in her other stuff. I always felt they were just a beige couple. Fine if you want that. I’ve felt terrible for both of them as 12 years of your life is a long time to walk away from. From what Jade said in her comment and what the SIL commented, I think that Matt seemed to be worried about never having a life outside of “Jade & Matt” it’s healthy to have friends you can sit with and just chill, you don’t always need to identify as a couple. People are individuals. I guess he didn’t want to be tied into the storybook life and wanted to be lazy on weekends and have a beer with the boys every now and then. I truly hope they both find happiness.
I rewatched their Florida vlogs (2019) and apart from Jade wearing a full face of make up a couple of days, they seemed to be normal, quite loving with each other - Matt in particular, but I remember him talking or insta posting about having to get 2 lots of Starbucks for Instagram and asking for Cinderella and Prince Charming on their cups I think they staged more because it was being reviewed by ATD before it went out. I remember watching the Living the Dream family in their 2018 vlog series and Clayton saying that to be a vlogger you need a patient partner and realise how intrusive it is on your holiday. I think it gets too much if you just want to have fun. They went to only vlogging shopping and restaurant in 2019 and weren’t vlogging at all in 2020, but that was cancelled.
Also, as a side note, I truly think they would still be together if COVID and lockdown hadn’t happened. They got space from each other when out in normal life. He’s obviously quite active by his muscle tone and fitness, so he must have been going stir crazy.

I'm not so sure about that, as I feel you could already tell Matt was strained with the ADT sponsored trip vlogging and if she was still promoting her/their fake "ideal" life on SM the charade would have had to continue and I doubt Matt would or could stand for it much longer anyway. They did say they were going to vlog their now-canceled second ADT freebie Disney trip and then not film their next one just for the break.

I think Covid just amplified Matt's feelings and forced him to deal with them instead of using work or working out as a distraction. I don't think he was actually any happier underneath it all pre-covid.

The weirdest part about this is that she still wanted to vlog the second trip, just privately and not upload it to YouTube. Her reasoning was apparently her Disney vlogs get loads of hate, which I’ve never seen to be the case. I reckon she was either planning to vlog it anyway in case views started tanking and she could tease the hidden Disney vlogs and get extra views when she posted them. Or they wanted a break but she said they’d privately film to keep the illusion up to the fans that they love Disney vlogging
