this may be unreasonable but I don't care about dumbass point scoring about the bleeping NHS. I care about the little animal that needs help right now. not everything has to be performative "political" content
And I certainly don't care about your stupid hateful non existent "food budget" that you made up or your stupid new name for your son. you don't get points for doing the right thing and getting him the special cat food. You're not a saint sacrificing your own food for his.

and get pet insurance you awful person. You can afford it.
Is that the sound of a begging bowl I hear?
It was commented on here about the cat's kidneys when she posted that picture of him drinking out the tap with the overblown alt description

I have a dog who suffers with chronic pain. Thank god I got insurance when I first got him, and before he was diagnosed. They’ve paid out for literally everything so far, including his medication, the behaviourist, the vet school, and even his 6 monthly check ups. (Pet plan - the monthly cost has doubled since I got him 7 years ago, but still worth every penny).

I think animals are literally a lifesaver for many people without the funds to pay insurance, whose pets are very much loved and cared for. And if you’ve lost your job or can’t work for whatever reason, losing your pet because you can’t afford insurance would be devastating. That’s exactly why organisations like the PDSA are so vital. Not for you Jack, with your £157k in cash for a flat.

Obviously changes in circumstances etc are understandable (a bit like being able to afford kids then losing a job etc)

But to get a pet and from the outset not being able to afford insurance I think is irresponsible and setting yourself up for heartbreak.

Not having pet insurance is insane. A couple of years ago out of the blue my dog ruptured a spinal disk and had to have an MRI followed by spinal surgery at a veterinary hospital. The bill came to over £6000, even with insurance we had to pay out around £1000 in excess, which we could ill afford. I don’t think we would have qualified for PDSA help, and without insurance I think we would have been faced with a very difficult choice.

God she's stupid. Imagine not being arsed (because you don't need to be) to get pet insurance when you have 2 pets

One of my dogs ate one of those protective things that go around saplings (I have no idea -don't ask). It cost 7 grand to get him right..there is no way I could afford not to have insurance.
