Ohhh NKOTB were the first band I saw live. Manchester G-Mex December 1991. I believe Marky Mark Wahlberg and his funky bunch got beaten up in Pizza Hut after the gig. Consequently Nirvana were the support act for the next U.K. dates. Little bit of pop trivia for you there
Absolute filth
Mine was The Wildhearts.
Can't remember where, other than it was Camden. There may have been pre gig beers involved.
Steady on! Mine was Teardrop Explodes in 1981... now I'm feeling ancient!Mine was Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine when I was 12.
Wow, I feel old
Anyone remember this bad boy?View attachment 171203 q
The nkotb talk is making me feel even older. Duran Duran all the way
I saw Teardrop Explode too, in Liverpool, either the Royal Court or Empire (can't remember) They were fab! I bought myself ankle boots and wore a scarf just like Julian Cope.Steady on! Mine was Teardrop Explodes in 1981... now I'm feeling ancient!
I was there too! But 10 years older.Blondie, Deeside Leisure Centre, 1980, aged 15, confirming I'm old!
Great atmosphere but the acoustics were terrible!I was there too!!!!!
My follow up gig was Haircut 100, not quite as 'cool'I saw Teardrop Explode too, in Liverpool, either the Royal Court of Empire (can't remember) They were fab! I bought myself ankle boots and wore a scarf just like Julian Cope.
I didn't go to my first gig till I was quite old and it was my best friends favourite band called bowling for soup, circa about 2002.
If that was at the Liverpool Empire i was there too. May be not very cool but they were great! My follow up gig was Haircut 100, not quite as 'cool'
You've a better memory than me. Your comment just brought it back to me. Why I was in Deeside watching Blondie, I could't tell you, I was never really a fan, and probably a bit old. Strange.Great atmosphere but the acoustics were terrible!
They are FABULOUS, darling.
ETA: I have a pair in patent black. I have just realised this.
Oh God it's time for one of my irrationally emotional responses on the MOGLITS EMOTIONAL EXPRESS.
The phrase "jelly shoes" and the...I dunno, round and glitzy childishness of them is setting me off. FFS where's my bottle of lady petrol.
(They are lush, BTW, my slightly damp eyes should not detract from that)
