This is why she's in such a bind though - the more nutritional food costs more. And she'll never address the fact that when you're buying out-of-date yellow sticker veg, you're barely getting any of the goodness out of them https://www.12ft.io/https://www.the...est-before-dates-in-move-to-tackle-food-waste
Exactly. We've talked about this a lot before. Healthy food costs money. Yes, not all of it. Oats, potatoes, apples, bananas, beans, etc. are all cheap and nutritious, but when you want to eat a healthy, varied, balanced diet you'll need a lot more fresh (not on the turn) fruit and veg every single day. Not just a handful of manky mushrooms and a few bits of wilting spinach. There's good evidence that we should eat daily
  • a portion of berries
  • several portions of other fruit
  • two portions of green veg
  • three portions of any other veg

For poor people, this is not affordable and I take issue with the fact that if you are poor you shouldn't be able to eat well. Frozen can help a lot, particularly in winter. And a portion is not one mushroom - it's about 75g. Even at Aldi prices, enough frozen berries for the week for a family of four comes to £6.50-ish. This is what made her £20 shop so enraging (among other things).

I wish someone would come along and do a weekly shopping list for a family of four based on what people nutritionally need with a meal plan. Let's be honest about how much a healthy diet costs and then let's make sure that people have enough to feed themselves.

It’s mad how Monroe seems always to have lost and is thus forever striving to re- discover this person she has in her created in her mind - this super productive, confident, talented, popular, positive, energetic ray of sunshine and savvy go-getter with light behind her eyes - when in reality, as far as the rest of the world can see, this Monroe has never, ever existed.

Imagine being so lost as to be continuously searching for a place that was never there.

Still think Jack is trying to get in Nigella's pants.

The fact that despite endless support from the squigs if she so much as "Christmas poops" in their direction that she has no confidence due to the "bullies"

Unless the fawning squigs are ( paid socks) I don't understand. How much love and adoration does one need to be enough. Not everyone will love her and she has to deal with that and move on.

I think the bullies comment may have also been a deflection due to Jack being spooked by the Trifle Defender's comments about Jack and the Christmas grifter (even if they're mutually blocked, Jack probably uses 🧦 to look).
Good point. And we all know TD is not a bully. She calls it how it is. Chirstmas grifter is no different to someone telling you a sob story on the tube. Sure, if that's how you want to spend your money, go for it. But let's be clear, CG is not JM's friend in any conventional understanding of the word 'friend'.

One of the reasons I'm hoping for some big reveal about Roadside Mum's true identity (because I don't buy *any* of it) is because Jack went on record as saying she knew who she was and she could vouch for her. I simply don't believe that, and Jack's version of knowing someone is that they've exchanged a few DMs.

I'm intrigued by RSM choice of "pseudonym" (but it would be quite funny if it was actually her real name, although I hope its not, but I'll not say why to avoid 🔻 ) in a way. Not sure why.
