Oh God I remember the first time I saw the name Caoimhe and I felt my brain shut down! Some names are so common over here now though I don't know how people don't know how to pronounce them? I was working in an office last year and I was helping someone research some details for a report on Storm Ciara, which they insisted was pronounced as 'Sierra'. I was there replying each time, 'It's KEER-A'.I’ve heard people pronounce Sean Seen, but that’s usually cos they aren’t aware of its proper pronunciation. As with many Irish/ Gaelic names, saying them as you see them isn’t usually correct, so it just doesn’t work in my head
