Like hummus with fake bacon is a new level of intersectional cultural appropriation my head hurts now. Bacon isn’t even taste the same it’s a very bacon flavour. Garlic bacon?

Soz @Boyo I don’t know if cross posting is a thing but this was about the 95/96 season (not sure why I used a football analogy there) The Drama channel is showing 1996 episodes at the moment and Arthur has just died 😭

I thought it was odd that she’d shown us the ingredients...excluding the cheese. She totally used Cathedral City full dairy cheddar 😝

OMG durian - I was in Malaysia last year and every hotel bans it even being on the premises. I asked a local why and they said they had no idea because it’s taste was divine (they actually said it was like crack - fraus not THAT crack jeez). I asked others and they told me it stank. So I had to have some and it does indeed taste amazing but duck me the smell 🤢

Not that I'd bother with a fake meat product (mainly because they take five times the work to make vaguely palatable compared to actual vegetables - the 2 hours of constantly meddling with Quorn Ragu to make it not taste of clinically depressed cotton wool swabs comes to mind here), but if I wanted something that was sweet, salty, crispy and savoury, I'd

Slice Aubergine lengthwise in 3mm/quarter inch slices.

Marinade it with a mixture of dark soy and standard soy, a tiny amount of smoked paprika and chipotle and some brown sugar mixed with avocado oil (as the smell of that is incredibly close to that of bacon) and then cook under a grill or medium-high pan on one side until crispy.

Put slices in a crusty roll (none of that crappy softy softy soft soft white bread shite she keeps going on about) with ketchup/chilli sauce, sliced tomato and some lettuce and possibly avocado slices if I felt like it.

No, your right, it would normally be served with lamb. I slow cook a leg of lamb with garlic to the point where it falls apart then serve it with Hummous, salad, Pitta or other flat breads (if I've managed to either make them, or get to the Turkish supermarket bakers)

Not bacon, we went to bodrum a couple of years ago and bacon wasn't really available with it being a Muslim country (although most people are secular), the only place you could get bacon was a couple of shops who imported it from Greece. you could get beef bacon which apparently tastes as bad as it sounds.
 
Jackfruit may be expensive, but pulses are incredibly cheap. I mean, jackfruit isn't even available in my country outside of about 3 or 4 specialist shops in one city, and our vegans are getting by?

This is such a dumb argument, I could easily turn around and go "fillet steak is expensive, chickpeas are cheap, it's expensive to be an omnivore!" You're just picking and comparing two random ingredients, Squiggle. Be more forensic.

Lads, I just got offered a RENTED flat above ground level in a good, central area five mins from my office (ha, remember those?) and am thrilled because unlike my current place it doesn't have mould and has an oven and a bath and a marquise (boxed in verandah/sunroom thing). I feel like I won the lottery. I am three years older than Jack. Perspective innit.

Thank space you, but I also cannot use the bubble bath as I suffer with eczema, and my skin is very sensitive.

Can we keep it, and raffle it if we ever need to raise funds for a court case?

Everything she says is a contraction.
Whinging about the price of everything, then buying expensive vegan products. You can be a vegan who eats cheaply and simply or someone who buys the luxury products, in the same way you can be vego or Omni. Many (I don’t want to generalise or speak for everyone) vegans, myself included might use one ‘nice’ product per meal or make it a treat. Jack seems to just mix them all into a slop.
