I hate the fact she has nothing useful to share. Where are her shopping lists for £30 based on her forensic knowledge of supermarket prices (or is she waiting for someone to hire her to do this). Why not see if any of the supermarkets want to do what M&S have done. Why not see if the supermarkets want to do a £30 box giving more value. Why not work with your own food bank to find ways locally to make that money stretch further (bulk buying etc).
Nope, howl into the dark... she has nothing to contribute apart from being ‘the expert’.

Aren't taxes used for the public services or police, fire and medical and schools with additional elements to the benefit system.


This really all stems from the fact she had to wait a few weeks for a benefit payment. The wait shouldnt be so long but she should have also had some sense not to walk out of a job before she had the means survive. I know some people have to leave jobs due to unforseen circumstances etc, but she didn't she quit and as far as I am aware if you walk out or a job there is a waiting period before benefits kick in.

The whole point of this is no child should be hungry, yet they are children are the innocent party in this and I hate anyone using this for any money gain. All proceeds made during this process should absolutely go to charity.

Charities are there to help the shortfall they have been there forever to help the needy.

Absolutely agree.

i hope it’s a case of her keeping Jack onside after seeing how much crap Jack can cause even unintentionally - by not reading what RM tweeted and then retweeting the pic with false info.
 
So bored of the bloody Guardian now. I only read it for their recap of Spiral these days.
Jack was snarky about THAT letter the other day too 'I'm broadly in agreement with it but...' then going on about we need to Feed the Children NOW.
I don't think she would ever say outright she refused to sign it because of her integrity, but she for sure wants it to be seen that way.

Jack had a child so should have been able to go onto Income Support at that time which in fairness did sometimes take a few weeks to process which I agree isn't acceptable, walking out her job wouldn't attract an upfront sanction for her circumstances and that benefit. That said from the old blog posts that have been unearthed it looks like she held off claiming which isn't anyone's fault other than her own.

I'm going to be honest here ( I might be wrong) but I think that if MR hadn't started tweeting about it and pushing for meetings with the PM, Jack would still be floundering around, screaming into twitter about the time she couldnt buy organic garlic because she was poor and the school food boxes would probably have stayed as paltry as they were originally.

It may well be a case of not what you know but who you know and unfortunately nobody important really seems to want to know Jack

First we had - woe is me Jack followed by Mary Poppins dress up time.

That’s what she was doing. Not much activism there IMHO.

Yeah, to clarify I’m not outright slating her and she’s done a really good thing getting the issue out there and visible. And I don’t begrudge her being sent things. I just felt a rising sense of dread with a couple of things she’s said. I’m probably projecting because I’m now so sensitive to grift in the wake of chancers like Jack. It’s horrible when you become cynical.

So obviously a weight pushing test which is a bit harder for women but not if you've trained for it. The kicker was the height issue, it was basically higher up than the average woman would be able to reach (let alone teeny tiny smol Jack). It was known as a way of making it harder for women to get through.

That was the beginnings of my origin story, when I first saw the light..
A couple of years ago she got into a spat on twitter (shocking) with a bloke who said she wasn't a firefighter. She said something like 'do you want to see photos of my boots and equipment as proof?' Which was like a lightbulb moment.
I was sure i remembered her saying she was a call handler and I was pretty certain that you don't need breathing apparatus for that...
Also, pretty sure you don't get to keep it when you leave?
The bloke's argument was that Jack is too small to be a firefighter and he had a point. Can you imagine her trying to carry someone out of a burning building?

I've got my tin foil hat on, but something just stinks about all this media attention. It's like a coordinated PR campaign. ZW puff piece plus comment is free penned by Jack. I wonder if her agent did a two for one deal?

Then there's this tweet which fed into the bizarre Express click bait article.

1. She didn't lose her rag in the interview.
2. She didn't call the PM "a liar".
3. The interview ended because it was over, not because of any other reason.
4. Jack works for the Express.
5. Jack didn't kick off about the article, despite ranting at "the press" being one of her favourite things to do.

It's just bizarre to me that her misleading account of the interview fits in so well to an Express article about her. Almost like she's working behind the scenes with tabloid journalists to raise her profile and thereby get more work. Kerching.
