Luke Harding on the BBC, talking about yesterday’s bombing in Moscow - “the bigger point is one of asymmetric warfare, Ukraine has got fewer troops, it’s got fewer planes, fewer tanks, and has been losing ground in the east of the country, so what it’s trying to demonstrate is, to its own people and to the world is that it can still strike back …. These kinds of operations are very important …. every night Russia bombards Ukrainian cities with drones, with ballistic missiles, kills civilians, kills children, and has eradicated entire cities by turning them into rubble, so I’m sure they could say this is terrorism but this is in the context of a brutal and savage war to extinguish Ukraine and its population.”

Does this make Ukraine Hamas?

I thought it quite peculiar Ukraine siding with Israel.
I remember Russia's first missile hit in Ukraine, it was a preschool or kindergarten of Pootan's 3 day war. None of the young children were killed but a couple were injured. They were asked to hold their powder (which they did until Pootan lined the Belarus border and of course invaded).

The weird part is Netanyapuh seems to be using the same missiles and bombs that were used by Pootan in it seems a similar order.

I remember reading on the Ukraine/Russia thread the first winter farmers hooking tanks to their tractors and taking them with the occupants still inside and men carefully moving Russian mines off the road into forests. Hopefully they informed the locals and remembered where they put them.

It's all changed now, I don't know how many days we are into Pootan's 3 day war.

They’re hypocrites don’t get me wrong it’s amazing that they are highlighting the problem but they are an integral part of the problem 🙈.
They way the BBC have covered this genocide is a travesty they have constantly thrown doubt regarding Israel’s war crimes and they’ve only highlighted the atrocities when it’s been viral online for days.
Their Syria coverage is a joke I read a piece about the IDF occupying land calling it a buffer zone and it was written as though they had every right to do that with zero mention that it’s illegal and the strikes they’ve made destroying Syrian property and killing civilians has been glossed over like it’s perfectly fine to do that even though it’s a crime.

I know I'm a broken record about it at this point, but I really wish the people who use antisemitism as a weapon to shut down protest or discussion actually thought through the impact of that on the Jewish community as a whole. They're priming people to think of the violence we see, the horrors Israel inflicts, as a result of Jewish people, rather than what it is - colonial violence and thought processes.
They're (possibly intentionally) sowing distrust and dislike of the Jewish community by associating what is happening with them, rather than acknowledging that it is not a matter of religious warfare but of the same violence and mistreatment of indigenous people that we've seen over and over again, in many countries, just with a lot more modern weaponry.

I read similar points in Haaretz a while ago and the article was saying that the fear mongering by the Israelis is intentional because they want people to move there to fill the land in you will so by making Jews feel afraid in their home countries they’re hoping they will come to Israel.

This is my thinking too, it's deliberate. In order for Israel to exist they need the people they claim they exist for to be terrified.
 
I’ve just watched Candace Owen on Piers Morgan uncensored.
I know very little about her, except she is a broadly right leaning commentator on issues of the day.

She maintains - very convincingly, that the Israelis knew and deliberately ignored the intel about the October 7th attacks.

I remember hearing this right after October 7th from the Egyptians, that they had given the Israelis warnings about what was going to happen.

I completely believe that this could have happened.
These bastards have wanted to erase the Palestinians from the map for decades, and this was a perfect opportunity to do it!

She’s one brave women to speak out like this.
I think she’s gonna end up having a terrible ‘accident’ in the not too distant future.

Yeah and it’s always been the Zionists agenda. Zionist needed the Jews as their weapon, they don’t care about Jews or the impact on them. They’ve rewritten very recent history, claiming “Israel” Palestine their biblical home, I often wonder how they would have spun it if they hadn’t chosen Palestine but gone with any one of their other options of Uganda, USA, Russia, Japan, Angola, Honduras etc. I’ve listened to several acclaimed Jewish historians explain the Zionist plan for a Jewish state and how they planned to utilise Judaism even against the Jews to further their plans and ambitions. It’s not like all this isn’t written down in documents and correspondence. Their plans were laid decades before the Holocaust but the Zionists have utilised that tragedy as their starting point to support their agenda and suppress any dissent. Many if not most people shudder at the horrors the Nazis inflicted on the European Jews and can sympathise that Jewish people would feel unsafe and felt they needed a place where they could live without fear. The reality is, that place should have been in Europe where they were from among Catholics, Muslims, Black, brown, white, gay, straight, disabled, abled and other religions, races, minorities and majorities which is what the post WW2 organisations such as the UN and its various arms were established for, to ensure peace and equality for all citizens of the world. It’s time for the people of the West, especially Germany, to take responsibility for their role in the Holocaust and stop making the people of Palestine suffer for something they had fk all to do with!

Agreed and another thing to consider is a lot of the people killed on Oct 7th were foreign visitors attending the rave and the kabbutz residents were the ones that were being vocal against the Netanyahu government so you could argue that’s why he hasn’t made a lot of effort for the hostages because they’re not important enough to him and he’s only making an effort now because trump is twisting his arm.

It’s alarming about Candace Owen, she’s not the ally I’d naturally want, she’s a right wing religious nut job, but frankly most people in the US are religious nut jobs on some level, cloud daddy’s are up there with a piece of cloth with Stars and Stripes on it that they have to pledge allegiance to every day at school (indoctrination). So if you strip away her religion then we are left with her right wing views which are probably more aligned with Israelis, which is mad that she’s butting heads with these folk and winning “antisemite of the year”. I feel it’s 💯 personal with her, right up until March this year she was employed by and firmly in the pockets of the Zionists and they loved that outspoken black woman who’s siding with the white supremacists, the problem they didn’t foresee is that opinionated women are opinionated and she had an opinion on Israel! She but hurt Ben Shapiro and he immediately ditched her and tried to get her cancelled. She could have gone quietly like many who’ve been cancelled because of criticism of Israel but she decided she liked the fame and the money and that this current and contentious issue kept her relevant.
So whilst much of what she is saying is correct I’m uneasy with her motives. Is this about justice for the Palestinians or is this about her grudge with Shapiro et al and keeping herself in the limelight? I fear it’s the latter. However if she convinces a few of those crazy US Christians or any other right wing bigots in the west, that what’s going on in Palestine is genocide, I’ll give her her dues.

I find the BBC so manipulative because now that a ceasefire is looming they have published an article decrying the media suppression of Palestinian voices.
They are trying to justify their inaction/ cover up by implying that it’s a systemic problem in the media as a whole and not solely a BBC issue I wouldn’t be surprised to see more excuses such as a lack of credible journalists on the ground and how they couldn’t broadcast hearsay blah blah.
I would have more respect for them if they spoke the truth and said that there was governmental pressure that had filtered down to the decision makers at the corporation which prevented them from making credible content.
The BBC knows what is coming when Gaza is opened up again and they’re trying to cover their own ass.
