This is an interesting development that happened today. Let’s hope that the Government are so scared by the pre action letter (too worried about what information will come out in court and implicate “names” in war crimes) that they do a swift review and conclude that they need to suspend all licences for arms.

It’s surprising the lengths people will go to to avoid being wrong in the beginning the pro Israel supporters felt that they had the moral high ground and to an extent they did because attacking civilians is not okay so they felt free to indulge their xenophobia unchallenged.
Fast forward and the narrative has changed and the victim has changed and rather than say hmm yeh this is not good and stand up to genocide they will try and defend the indefensible even when it makes them look ridiculous.
It takes a bigger person to say wow I’m wrong or wow I've been duped and change course unfortunately their egos are so inflated that they could never admit they are wrong even when they are presented with overwhelming evidence.

So, release the hostages, which is the only bargaining chip- it calms the tension for Netanyahu before any trial, Kid Starver gets the donation monies and good guy feels after his speech the other day about his priorities and Trump gets the inauguration with bragging rights and of course being the best, the most best, all focus on Ceasefire and hostages...
If the ceasefire deal is rejected for any reason then the famine, death of Palestinians and whatever happens to Gaza/West Bank will all be the fault of the evil terrorist organisation framed as those 'jihadists'

Of course, the hostages should be released. Presented as a Hanukkah/Christmas/New year/Trump miracle...however, it is politicised. Most importantly, it means families are reunited!

Yeh that’s the way I feel you nailed it.
I remember arguing with an extended family member the day after the attack they were very very disgusted about the attack but also with me for “trying to justify this heinous crime”. I knew ir was the Hannibal directive from beginning because how could men arriving from the sky carry weapons capable of causing that level devastation? I thought that it was obvious that something fishy was happening.
The world leaders all having the exact same narrative was also suss it’s like they already had a script because there wasn’t a hint of individualism among the lot of them.
I thought Trump was all about MAGA it’s interesting that his first priority isn’t tackling the economy or crime at home but meddling in the Middle East like he didn’t cause enough problems last time .

I’m a reader of this thread and have probably only posted a couple of posts here, to date.

There’s no two ways about it: Gaza is no longer a case of self defence. The response is totally disproportionate. And it is collective punishment. The volume of innocents lost is overwhelming much higher on the “pally” side.

I understand and completely agree with you, I was wondering if it was something specific that had made you state that, but it’s very hard to keep going every day and think things will get better and remain “not angry”. Everyone is failing the Palestinians and the things we thought were there to protect all humans in this world turn out to only be there for those the West dictates are worthy.

It was his words on that led by donkeys vid and he’s not wrong in that article you posted, we “the world” can only accept what’s happening once the Israeli voices (or at least some of them) deem it so. It’s outrageous that Palestinians, the UN and various NGOs and charities are showing us exactly what is happening and crying out to the world for help and the response from governments is “October 7th” and “Israel has the right to defend herself” then the response from the avid Zionists is to attack, deny or ridicule the Palestinians doing things like reducing Gazan journalist contributions to “a child with an iPhone and a tripod” in order to diminish the credibility of the images of genocide.
