For my part though I need to apologise in advance, this is THE FIRST EVER series of I'm a Celeb I have ever watched, and the only reason I am watching it now is because my "inbetweens" age children want to watch it. It brings family TV nights back rather than them watching phones/YouTube carp, so I am absolutely loving it for this reason.

Also I am enjoying "talking" to all of you. 😀

I'm a mum too and like you I can't stand things like Mumsnet and I avoid any "Mummy" groups. Can't stand it when people go on and on about being a mother. Yes, our kids are the most important people in our lives but I don't expect other people to find them fascinating. That's why I didn't vibe with Giovanna either.

I can't remember tbh, I think he might have. When it comes to Noel I'm biased as I always loved his programmes although in recent years, when he met his current wife, he seemed to become a bit strange, so I went off him a bit. I always much preferred Tony Blackburn and still have a crush on him to this day.

I watched the first series and the 2nd one, and then didn't watch properly for years until about 3 years ago. It all depends on if there is anyone in there I'm interested in. Many years there hasn't been.

I think he said in his original introduction VT he hated frogs which is exactly why the producers have them to him

Ah, I see. I missed that. I still think he probably would've been just as scared with any other creatures in there though!

Why divulge your actual worst fears though? When will these IAC contestants ever learn? When doing the pre-show research do they have the celebs wired up to Jeremy Kyle's old lie detector kit or something?!

Hope we don't get a shock a la Noel Edmonds. People couldn't believe when he got voted out. Imagine if someone like Mike Tindall or Boy George left first. I'd be ripping.
 
Just found this thread, some thoughts -

Owen - Why is he doing the woe is me act? Why does he deserve extra food? Cause he's hungry... they all are. He reminds me of Tommy Fury.

Charlene - The RV thing is making me furious, there has to be a bigger reason than the spider, just get big Mike in to remove it, sorted. She's being so moany and selfish full well knowing if anyone else takes the bed then there's consequences, get her out!

Baba - Only reason he's exempt has to be cause he can't swim, nothing wrong with that but it seems to be all the water ones.
George - I'm loving the snide drama, yes it's arsehole behaviour but it's good tv.
Mike - Jesus that ant trial looked horrendous. Seems like a very nice guy.
Matt - No opinion, don't care.
Jill - Nice but boring, her most interesting moment was the roach in her ear.
Seann - Can be funny at times but mostly is like a hyperactive child who can't believe his luck.
Sue - She's Eileen, I can't separate her from her character.
Scarlette - Seems nice.
Chris - He'll get voted for more trials.

I totally get this, I just think, is she *especially* nice? Like in contrast to others? She seems nice sure, but is it not just because most others are cunts? I think she's just completely normal and not particularly anything. I guess I just think if we are arguing team player, Matt is certainly more of that and while yes on the outside, nice no. On the inside, he's been nice to everyone.

I suppose I'm a bit biased when it comes to Noel. Maybe he was a bad example. Were there any other contestants over the years that were a shock when they were voted out first, despite people thinking they were safe, and thinking someone seemingly less popular would go first? Anyway, I hope that doesn't happen tonight!

You could be right about her seeming nicer because some of the others are cunts alright! Re Matt, yes in the jungle, whatever about outside of it, he has been a team player, and not least when it comes to earning stars so everyone could eat.

I suppose the producers think it's "kinder" to make people vote for who they want to stay. If we voted for who we want to leave, then that celeb would have no doubt "the public don't like you", and maybe they don't want to go that route because of mental health implications etc. Esp after Caroline Flack etc. I can't remember with Big Brother if people voted for people they wanted to leave, or wanted to stay, when people were up for eviction?

To be honest I'll gain pleasure from the annoyance it will cause to people if / when he stays! I don't live in the UK but our govt made mistakes with care homes too. I know my mam is dead now, but I actually fully expected her to catch covid and pass away during the first wave of covid, such were the outbreaks in our care homes. I was amazed and relieved she escaped it because people caught it and died in the home she was in. So I get where people are coming from with Matt, but judging him purely in the jungle, he's earned stars and fed the camp, he's been pleasant, and I've felt sorry for him at times tbh. Denise Welch can do one, and so can Charlene. I'd keep BG in for entertainment value but he's been going hell for leather for Matt, but didn't like it when his own "past sins" were brought up.
