Not sure I should post a picture from her Facebook now she’s shut her filthy trap, but she’s got a kitten 😔 hopefully she’s changed because she couldn’t look after herself before let alone a pet.

How can she afford a kitten when she can't even afford her kids' school uniforms?

My 2 cats cost me £70 a month in insurance and £30 in cat litter alone. The vet would have cost me £1300 last year had I not had insurance.

Our cats cost 40 a month each vetcare plan and insurance as they're young. PDSA pissed me off... they will not generally help with routine care eg vaccinations & flea/worm treatment, and were extremely rude when I asked, along the lines of you shouldn't get a pet if you can't afford it. I wasn't even expecting it free, just maybe at cost or pay later. (Had taken on an unwanted bc3 last year, and got given bc4 in April, when I had had to stop work in the Feb and claim UC with no mortgage help and so no spare money for 5 months till we got straight again)
Some but not all branches will do cheap neuter and chip.
So basically they will pay 1000s for your very ill animal's treatment for, say, flu or fip and unwanted kittens, but not 80 for prevention.

Millions of private renters are shut out from having a pet. I've gone from homeowner to renter and had to rehome my cat (with a family member I pay a monthly amount to for her care). Tough titties innit. Can't have everything you want. I still pay her insurance too. Ofc i don't think any animal in need should be denied care. Plenty of ppl get a change in circumstances where they can no longer afford vet fees but plenty of arseholes get them when they can't afford them full stop.

I’ve seen the picture. I agree it wouldn’t be right to share…

P.S. Did she ever sell the car? Did she start her diet yet? Did she blag the DLA? I’m so sad that she disappeared with so many questions left unanswered.
