Do we know when?

His sentencing will be very interesting. Will the judge come down hard on him because its a high profile case? Or will he get a non custodial sentence like so many paedophiles. If it’s the later he’s created his own prison, being so well known, with nofriends and family supporting him he will have to live knowing everyone knows him. Going to the supermarket, putting petrol in the car, walking down the street…. Basic everyday life there’s no chance he won’t get shouted or spat on, even the odd thump.

It's a first offence, he pleaded guilty, in the scheme of things it doesn't relate to many images and the guy who shared the images with him was given a suspended sentence. If he's jailed it will be appealed.

"The bail conditions of disgraced BBC newsreader Huw Edwards have been revealed – and reportedly include a ban from unsupervised contact with children.

Edwards, 62, faces sentencing in September after pleading guilty to three charges of making indecent images of children.

The newsreader has been granted provisional bail and warned that ‘all options’ are on the table for his sentencing on September 16 – including an immediate jail term.

According to court records as seen by Sky News, one of the conditions of Edwards’ bail is that he is not allowed unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18. Any contact he does have with children must be under the direct supervision of an adult who knows about his offences.

Edwards is forbidden from the use of any devices which don’t record internet history – and any internet-compatible devices are to be made available for police inspection upon request.

This reportedly also includes a ban on any online communication apps, forbidding him from talking to anyone under the age of 16

Ugh, somehow I feel like prison wouldn't necessarily be a punishment to him as it would to others. An excuse to be in close quarters around many (young, unstable) men?

Better make him a pariah in the outside world without access to his beloved social media and dating apps and without his reputation and prominence. That would be a real struggle.
