I was maybe a bit blunt, so apolgies for that, but people in these threads have been throwing all kinds of tit around with no evidence at all.

Like I say (in a late edit), the Mail article doesn't actually say any of the colleagues are "young", but if what it says is true then he probably should be sacked for sending unwanted flirty messages to colleagues, but we'll see what the bbc actually say on that, because it could still be the DM over egging it.
Thank you for that, I really appreciate it.

In all these threads the outcome has been
  1. The mother - poor woman - the desperation, what an idiot, she is toxic, probably a chav because she went to The Sun getting no action from the BBC, no wonder her child is an addict and estranged, she is to blame for this mess
  2. The wife - poor woman, she is beyond humiliated, she looks like Mick Hucknell, she looks old and HE just wanted a young male replacement, the one who is having to hold things together while her husband gets help
  3. HE - mucky old man trawling the net for seeding encounters with boys 40 plus years younger than him, what a peach of a bum, aww poor HE - he is suffering really badly from mental health, leave him alone he is broken, he has done nothing wrong, he is a Wronged Man. He has lost everything.
Still a man’s world, isn’t it?

I thought this yesterday. Someone posted (paraphrasing) “who would blame Huw for trading in his old wife for a hot young gay man?”.

It was low-brow misogynistic trolling but it’s still indicative of gross attitudes. People who mewl about homophobia are typically those who imply such stuff about women, too. See: Owen Jones.

I think this is going to turn out to be a non-story about a closeted gay middle-aged man who has been in contact with young men (not children) for sexual gratification. Sleazy as duck, immoral, but not illegal.
I feel sorry for all people involved in this, including the woman who went to the scummy Sun in the first place - she was probably expecting a massive payday and it's backfired on her.

This is actually a Very interesting 60 minute lecture and Q&A Huw did 2 months ago, all about Social Media in general and News in particular... He says some very "topical" things, abou Twitter, Facebook and A.I....and he first Q of r Q&A is "How do you rebuild Trust", blimey... and a few unfortunate ones too...He starts at about 33 minutes...

Yes and i think Huw would be savvy enough to know about PAYG phones being unregistered - a good way for someone to send him pictures without ever being found out - im sure there are images from 3 years ago - on a device hidden in his mansion home somewhere - Police did NOT even search his home or hard drives .

The only aspect he didnt have control over was the mother speaking out .....

He's done wrong whilst perhaps not criminally he has done wrong morally. His wife and kids didn't deserve this tit show and neither did anyone that was involved. He thought his money and stature could let him do as he pleases but it doesn't work like that
It does on here. Quite a lot of people feel that he’s the victim - all the other players around him are to blame.

Just with ref to the mother - if I as a lone person had complained about something so serious to a behemoth of an organisation like the BBC and been brickwalled, I might be tempted to hand grenade the whole thing by going to the press to get it to stop. The Sun, notorious in its sensationalist inclinations, might have been the only one to touch it.

If only the mother could afford expensive lawyers.
