Tbh I think it’s the end of days, for many soaps. I guess Doctors is different because it’s the second and “smaller” soap compared to EE, but I’m sure I read and said on here before that channels are forced to do a certain % outputs of shows which includes soaps. So I actually don’t know if channel 4 could axe Hollyoaks without a replacement (which they did with Brookside but setting up Hollyoaks in place first). I should reiterate I don’t know if that’s true but I read it somewhere a while ago.

If I recall they have another soap called River City which is Irish and I can’t remember if Holby counts as a soap but I think they could replace it with something rather than have to have specifically another soap

LMAO just reading over this and I know this is the Hollyoaks thread where we have to just ignore things that couldn’t be real but Doctors at times cranked that up to 11!! I remember some episodes and being like wtf? How is all of this going on in a small suburban village about a GP surgery? How would the NHS even afford all the lawsuits, bomb threats, random attackers etc?

River city is Scottish, we refer to it in this house as river crappy

I've said it before but I think hollyoKs should just go totally wild with really unrealistic storylines, the mix they have now js just boring

I like it when it’s unrealistic but they try and make it realistic which does work at times, but I’d be interested to see them go full Sunset Beach style and have ghosts, aliens, body switches, vampires etc. in fact, if a channel made a soap that was truly out there nobody could ever complain it wasn’t realistic because it’s not supposed to be

Yes! Would love that, someone being killed off by being attacked by an alligator that had somehow swam across the Atlantic , evil twins, opportunities are endless 🤣
 
I guess it doesn’t make a difference to most because I think most of people on this thread watched E4 pace anyway but I always watched C4 time and now not watching as much/forgetting

I tend to watch on demand and binge it. Who the duck is the teenage girl suddenly hanging around the dog 😂?
