Absolutely. Mandy was actress who played Mandy for so long that I don’t think anyone could replace her. If there’s been a a number of actors playing a character over time then it’s different, but she’s the only one.
 
I wouldn’t like to see Mandy recast but at the same time there is so much potential with the current storylines like Cindy, Ella & her finding her dad etc.

What happened with Sarah-Jayne Dunn? I think it was to do with her on only fans but I never really heard the full story. Is there no chance of her going back? If it is because she had an only fans then that is a bit rich considering they used to do the hunks calendars and base their casting on how “sexy” the actor/actress is and not their acting talents.

Yeah it was because she was doing OF. The irony is she only posted the type of pics she had done for the Hollyoaks calender ie lingerie, bikini etc. Nothing wild, nothing nude, nothing suggestive. It's actually ridiculous they got rid of her
 
I don’t have any objections to a recast, just that I don’t think it works when a prominent character like Roxy Mitchell then transfers into an established character like Mandy.

In fact, I welcome recasts. It’s ridiculous when someone dies, or gets married and they’re not there. I mean, as if Mandy would fly halfway across the world and leave her daughter with her cousin. That’s just unrealistic. If I had my way I would replace actors straight away.

Cindy’s her step sister but I agree with everything else you said

Yep, drop their name into every sentence for a couple of weeks (like they did with Holly IIRC) job done.

Absolutely agree, the recast isn’t an issue it’s the fact that it’s Rita Simmons and Mandy was such an iconic/long standing cast member…it just. Weird.
