Another video about how she felt on the wedding: she didn't remember it and it wasn't the best day of her life 🤣

Perhaps she would have enjoyed it more if she didn't do 30 mini bleeping photoshoots during it and wasn't pissed as a fart the whole day 🙄

That video is essentially 10 minutes of her trying to convince herself that the reason she feels so horrible is because she has "wedding blues" and not because she's just married someone who doesn't love her and vice versa.

It's just a bit sad really.

So I watched the wedding video. I'm going to apologise in advance in case I offend anyone who liked any of the elements of the wedding itself or had similar at their wedding.

The bridesmaids dresses were horrible. It was like she wanted to make them look as bad as possible. And flower crowns? How original  .

The tractor 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Never seen so many pretentious hipster men in one place.

Her Mum looks pretty uncomfortable during all the speeches - maybe Sue knew the whole thing was a farce. Who is the girl (maid of honour?) who did the gushing speech? Is Helen still friends with her?

There was far too much swearing in the speeches, and that is coming from someone who swears like a sailor most of the time. Not classy or appropriate in a wedding speech. The bit where Helen shrieks 'I'm bleeping married' is so cringe.

I bet they wrote their own vows (which I know loads of people do but I'm a traditionalist in that respect) and I'm a bit sad they're not in the video.

It was all very pretentious and over the top, very try hard. It was more a Festival of Helen than a celebration of love, commitment and two families joining together.

The bridesmaid dresses were terrible, whoever got the yellow/green vomit one... Poor fuckers 🤢 I think she got them from ASOS if I recall correctly? Either way they were awful and they had really weird clashing shoes too 🤢

In the wedding photo video she said she sang her wedding speech.... Of course she just had to sing it, so cringey 🤣🤣🤣

Ellie did the gushing puke worthy speech, and yes she still lives up Helga's butt.

Helen's wedding video actually made me pretty sad (although I am an absolute romantic sap). The way she looks at Maff made me feel a bit emotional and it's really sad to see her in relationships since that don't seem to measure up. Never once with Mark or Fil did I see her act like she did with Maff in vlogs.

Also, I was watching some old vlogs of them together and someone commented on 'HE RETURNS' with this....

(there was another comment that also said she sounds like stevie nicks lol)

Exactly this.

I feel like her relationship with Fil is soooo forced - especially in her Have I Ever video when she says she's sooo in love, he's soooo amazing, he's a great communicator and she has zero red flags from him.... Yet he had to move out for a time because he couldn't stand living with her anymore 🤣

The build up to and the wedding was the moment I started seeing Helen for who she is. And it isn't a nice person. It felt very showy for the sake of it, like the whole marriage and love part didn't actually matter. And it really annoyed me.

They got Married summer 2017 and he left beginning of December the same year.
That’s harsh - no wonder she‘s messed up. He must have known it wasn’t what he wanted before the wedding if he left so quickly, pretty gutless not say something beforehand.

I watched the other video’s (wedding blues and wedding photo’s) while I was cleaning up the kitchen last night and it’s crystal clear that she was a total bridezilla. Two years of ‘events’ leading up to the wedding itself? Really? Get over yoursef, love. And all that about the planning being so time consuming that you have a sense of loss when it’s over? Only if you are more bothered about the wedding than the marriage. I planned my entire wedding in 6 months, had a lovely day (lots of our guests said it one of the best weddings they’ve been to) and then got on with married life. But I just wanted to get married and celebrate the commitment with our family and friends, there is loads of stuff people have at weddings that we just didn’t bother with. I do remember being delighted to be married and also relieved that I could spend my free time doing things that were non wedding planning related after the day was over though 😆 .

Considering the show Helen made of it, I imagine he probably didn't want to embarrass her by cancelling early or ditching her at the alter. Which in the long run probably would have been kinder to her. But ultimately whatever he did in that situation, he would have looked like an arse and Helen would be left feeling like tit.
I think if they would have waited longer to get married, or had a much more intimate ceremony things might have been different for them. Whether they split up or stayed together, I don't know, but I think it certainly would have been less humiliating and more of a joint decision.

Same, she became a completely different person and the wedding was just The Helen Show. I actually felt sorry for Maff and wonder if he felt like he had to go through with it because she went so over the top with it, he might have felt it was too late to back out

In the wedding photo video he sounded sad that he couldn't stay in the main building the night before, and ended up having to stay in a pub - it was also really sad when he said he found out later that it was a dog friendly pub and that he could have had Barney with him the whole time, instead Barney had to go with Helen and her cronies.

The whole thing was just for show and some of the things were just so impractical - making people sit on the prickly hay bales, the peacock chairs which they both said were so uncomfortable, the first dance on a bunch of rugs piled up which kept trying to trip them up. Maff even said how sick he was having to go on the ferris wheel 20 times for their photo shoots.

I wonder just what input he had in the whole wedding or whether Helen just took over everything to make her MelFest the way she wanted

Can I also add that in my personal opinion, I think if Helen had left him, a lot of people (not saying on here but her general fan base) would praise her for being strong and leaving when she knows it isn't right or working out. I think society generally blames relationship breakdown (in hetro relationships) on the man. If a woman leaves, she is powerful. If a man leaves, he is a coward. Which tbh isn't very fair.

I doubt he had much say and not by choice. Some people are happy to take a back seat in their wedding arrangements, but I didn't get that vibe off him. It felt like he didn't want any of the showyness.

I agree with this, I think most people would have praised Helen as being strong if she’d been the one to leave. And Maff was clearly completely railroaded - it must be very difficult to call off a booked and planned wedding, especially one of such epic proportions. Personally though, I don’t have much time for people of either gender who get married and don’t make a decent attempt to make it work.

Going back to the wedding itself, I was sat here thinking there would be zero chance of me going to a wedding where I had to camp (I hate camping) and the hay bales would have been a nightmare for anyone with a bad back or allergies.

And it was the 3rd time she filmed the video because she "came off as a grumpy biatch"... Yet still came off as a grumpy biatch 🤣

Yes I agree about making an attempt. I think that people think marriage and relationships should be perfect 100% of the time and it's just not the case. I'm not saying we should live in the 40s where things like domestic violence and marital rape were just acceptable but I genuinely know people who will leave a relationship if they have one mild argument because "that's not what love should be like". Which is ridiculous.
But at the same time, we don't really know what effort either of them put in behind the camera. And maybe I'm biased but I just get a feeling that Helen wanted it all her way and wouldn't compromise, so Maff probably did the right thing by leaving her.
