It could have been so easy to duck off to America quietly and live a simple life away from the media. They’ve fucked it.

Exactly, them stepping down is not a big deal, they would effectively become like Peter and Zara. But everything they have done before and since announcing has been a PR disaster and really shown their true colours

I only look on Twitter I don't have an account because I know that I would get riled up and banned really quick ! What would be the point? 🤣 there are too many horrible idiots on there.

The "August Philip" thing reminded me of another North American who married into the royal family Autumn Phillips. Ok - she was Canadian, but then again, Megsy tried to pretend she was as well for about 12 minutes. They asked for privacy, they got it. simples.

Why is it that every other member of the royal family manage to go about their daily life with the least amount of fuss and yet Harry and Meghan can't seem to - William and Kate (the future king and queen) seem to be able to have privacy when they want, Kate is often seen in the local Sainsburys but not harassed by anyone and the other royals have full time jobs and manage to go to them every day without it being front page news and yet Meghan makes out she's too famous to even take Archie to nursery and all this constant need for privacy is just a joke. If they just shut up about it, stopped suing every Tom, Dick and Harry and just got on with their lives like the rest of the family, they'd be absolutely fine and could have the private life they proclaim they want - it's only them that's stopping them have it by the constant need to keep themselves relevant and in the press. Talk about having delusions of grandeur - I'm sure if the future king and queen can manage to live a normal life apart from when they're on duty, the spare and a virtually unknown actress could manage it if they tried.

Harry would need a negative COVID test to board a plane (USA requires this I understand), so self-isolating in the USA would allow him to pass a test and fly. Makes zero difference to the rules on arrival. (There's a 'test to release' scheme after 6 days which he could use).

Yes. He needs a negative COVID test to exit USA and then needs to self-isolate at home for 10 days on arrival plus take two COVID tests during that time.

He's allowed back here as a UK citizen, but is he allowed back into the USA?

From the US embassy:

Entry of foreign nationals who were physically present within the following list of countries within 14 days prior to their entry or attempted entry into the United States is suspended, per Presidential Proclamations 9984, 9992, 9993, 9996 and the subsequent proclamations issued May 24, 2020, and January 25, 2021:

  • The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, excluding overseas territories outside of Europe.
I think Meghan would still be allowed to enter the UK as a US citizen with a negative Covid test as you've said with self-isolation on arrival, or if the US becomes a red country for 10 days in the Travelodge in Hounslow (the thought of that is just wonderful, can you imagine :ROFLMAO:).

If the Oprah interview goes ahead and they throw the RF under the bus to make them look like victims I have a feeling they will be shunned by many world leaders. Not sure if they would care because Cringe is more interested in being a celebrity and famous.

Honestly they are the worst. What happened to wanting a quiet life. A life of service? More like a life of service to their bank account
