Australia's frontline workers have had an incredibly difficult year, battling the Black Summer bushfires and then the coronavirus pandemic.

That's prompted Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex to join Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in pleading for them to look after themselves.

The prime minister on Friday launched a program called Peak Fortem, which is aimed at helping them do just that.

Based on a successful UK model, the program is an online resource for first responders and their families to better work through the stress and trauma that may occur on the job.

"I'm in awe of what our first responders do every day, and I've seen firsthand that it's not without its personal costs ... the stakes are so high every single day," Mr Morrison said in a statement urging people to take advantage of the free online program.

"Your health matters. Your wellbeing matters. Your work is vital to our community, but you are more important than your work."

Peak Fortem co-founder John Bale said the role of frontline workers is confronting, dangerous and often traumatic, and has only intensified over the past year.

Speaking from personal experience, Prince Harry too urged Australian workers to treat "mental fitness" the same as "physical fitness".

"Serving in the military, I saw first-hand how critical it is to train your mind as a muscle - not only to endure challenges and stresses, but to excel, grow, and build resilience in all aspects of life," he said in a statement.

Why the fudge is he sticking his nose into Australian affairs now? Trying to prove he's still interested in the Commonwealth to keep Granny happy? The Aussies must've been gutted they couldn't get his brother, you know, someone with actual first responder experience during his time with the Air Ambulance.

The attack on the Capitol was wrong and the backlash is ferocious grabbing everyone and jailing left right and centre, far more so than during the other long drawn out burning looting and shooting in the summer, but once the initial shock wears off the anti Harris(Biden is just a figure head) moderates will regroup and America is in for a bumpy ride.

I don't understand this tool he's launched. What is this new one and where can I find it if I need one? I've never seen one wielded or displayed anywhere and have no idea what they look like or how to go about getting one. It's not the first tool he's launched and I can't find any of the others either. she has whole phrases in common parlance named after her!

Before she arrived we'd never heard of the expression "to Markle" someone meaning to completely drop someone from your life....and nobody used the expression "it's been markled " meaning any chance of its success has just been sucked dry... or something similar 🤣

Feck. My eyes don't roll back enough for this, and I've had a VERY long day (at home all day actually, 2 teens home-schooling, trying to run a business, trying to get info out of local authority on what business support is there for those who can stay open but their customers can't, and watching the local river like a hawk, because it's flooded and getting close to business premises....I need gin, sorry for the rant).
