I missed that post, but will reply there. The guilt is a bit of a complex issue, but pretty normal. Reptiles demand a fair bit of investment in terms of money and care. I'm sure you'll do your research though ❤ They do sound ideal though.
I wish I could send you my crows for your garden/balcony (less risk of allergy) - they're feral (and I prefer to keep it that way for their safety) but come clamouring for meals. They have very strict preferences and often scream at me for serving them "late", not plating the food the way they like it (even if I add lots of water they will drop all of it into the water bowl just to make a point), or just generally they scream at me (the Pup barks at them when they do this). Kind of like human relatives really. But they're quite fun when they're in a good mood.

Actually, those three are Jubilee Medals, given to the men in the family. So, not even related to his Army time. Mike has two as his marriage covered two Jubilees, Edo, Jack have one each and James has two.

The Pup's a grazer (he'll eat a meal very slowly a bite or two at a time), so we tried to set him up outside with the same result. We were afraid that the crows might take off with him (he's tiny!), so he got set up inside within a week or so
