I have had friends and close family who have dealt with severe depression and can say with my hand on my heart that no way would they have been able to go to a public event at Mayhew, dress up for the public at Cirque du Soleil in a full evening gown and makeup (hours of preparation), entertain weekend guests, make elaborate instagrammable avocado toast, then be out and about for a public lunch calling in the paparazzi. So Meghan's experience of depression is not one I recognise. But, you know, experiences may vary.

I totally agree. Having experienced depression she would not be functioning in my opinion.
 
Having had devastating, painful experiences with depression and mood issues (pretty much since childhood) I can only say for me, I can barely function normally when I'm lost in ruminating thought. It's almost like having a microchip in your brain that's on a loop telling you how crappy you are, reminding you of bad memories (you don't even get a break from the searing torture and pain in your dreams). You feel exhausted and it's very hard to take proper care of yourself.

However, there are people out there who are functioning addicts, who can uphold good jobs and still be in the grips of alcoholism (for example) yet still, to the outside world, seem perfectly fine.

So, although I don't think Meghan is the most genuine of human beings, this could be what's happening. That old saying, you don't know what someone's truly like till they close their front door.

Harry hasn't got that much money, unless Netflix coughs up. There's no way the RF should give her a penny of their money. In a way, I hope they get some dosh from Netflix, because he might outlive his usefulness a bit quicker.

BASTILLE: Yes but the RF will insist he happily pay for EVERYTHING for the rest of their dependency, they wouldn't want the kids to go without. So every time she fancies a new car or house she can ask for more. If she gives them up she loses that.

Don't forget Harry is the 2nd Son. I think Diana only did so well because she was married to Charles. Sarah got bugger all.

Because of cost cutting, supposedly. and yet how much did they pay Harpo? In all seriousness what are peoples takes on Archie?! I used to full on believe he doesn’t exist and he’s a doll and when he got older an actor... now I’m going with he is real, but was 100% surrogate born. Lots of reasons for thinking the surrogate thing besides the moonbump that I’m sure you’re all aware of so won’t write an essay!

Megz has said that she went to HR, who are responsible for the staff working in the Royal Household. The Royal Family are completely separate and have specialist Royal Doctors (called the Medical Household apparently). Any RF member in need of advice or treatment goes this route and is guaranteed copper-bottomed confidentiality.

It's not clear what sort of help she asked for and there's speculation that she asked HR to pay for something like a fancy spa break, and was told 'sorry, can't help with that, not in my budget'. They would almost certainly have said for any medical advice approach the Royal Doctors in the first instance. Added to that she was pregnant (or was she? ;)) and under the care of a first class Ob/Gyn. They would routinely check in on mental health issues during pregnancy so the million dollar question is why the Portland medical team were so negligent towards a pregnant woman suffering acute depression....
