Has Scooby Doo been Meghan's long-term supporter and mouthpiece, or has he been biding his time to forensically fillet the delightful Duchess...? Does his bland and plasticine exterior hide a persona even more dark and devious than than Ms Yachtie? I'm beginning to wonder... If he intended to shine a light on the murkiest crevices of her character, and Harry's, then he's pulled off a blinder. All while using their own words to confirm what had only been rumours and speculation. Talk about light the touch paper and stand back to watch the fireworks! I think even the Medicis would have been impressed.

From the mail "The authors of Finding Freedom are not far wrong when they say: 'Highly emotional and fiercely protective of his wife, Harry was drained by the unique circumstances of his family which, as a source described, 'doesn't have the opportunity to operate as an actual family'.'

As if Megz has any idea how a normal family operates - she spent her life flirting between mum and dads house depending on who was more beneficial to her at any given time.

They never chose Windsor. Not for one second. Will and Kate have most of KP and Amner Hall. Charles has Clarence House, Highgrove, Birkhall and Llwynywermod. Prince Andrew has Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate, Sophie and Edward have Bagshott Park, Princess Anne has the Gatcombe Estate. All are massive properties worth millions. Harry and Meghan weren't offered Frogmore House, they were offered a former staff cottage. I think that was when HM sent them a clear message that they weren't the "big shots" that they felt they deserved to be and what started the whole downward spiral because Meghan realised that she was never going to waft around a palatial English estate and/or a grand London residence and entertain Hollywood royalty from there.

Excellent point! I didn’t see the « staff quarters » as being a snub as the place cost a bomb to do up.
Princess Eugénie lives in a 3 bedroom cottage at KP. It was shown here in the Prince Harry Ed Sheeran charity thing.

I think Meghan actually thought she could wangle an apartment in Windsor castle itself. As pp said, Apartment 1 connecting to Harry’s was vacated by the Gloucester’s for them.
Charles was going to give them a farm in Hereford and he would have probably given him HighGrove when he became king.

So pre-covid, Megz thought she would be raking in tens of millions a year and taking her pick of prime LA real estate. Oh Karma is a witch.

But... how many other people get offered huge houses and property from their families?

Why should either Me gain or Hasbeen expect to be offered a huge house? Didnt they also have a house in the cotswolds as well? I cannot believe how naive Harry has been in all of this. Surely royal Houses get offered or given as a reward or when they become vacant? They arent just given out of no where. How many of the queens other grandchildren have been given houses as wedding presents?

Its the assumption that they were something special ...that sticks in my throat!

Yes, and Scobie’s royalties will be based on the list price he set. He may even sell more at the lower price.
Sorry no Scobie would have no say on how much the book is sold for. I worked in publishing for many years and can answer most publishing related questions.
Standard practice with a book like this would be for the authors to have an 'advance of money' before the book comes out. This means that the advance is added to the costs of producing the book. Other costs are typesetting, proof reading, editing, cover design, paper/printing etc. Marketing and storage are also cost factors. After taking all of this into account the publisher then determines the unit cost for producing each book. The book cannot be sold for less than the unit cost but it will initially be marketed at a much higher cost.
Scobie will have signed a contract giving him a percentage of the net sales (eg. 10%) and he won't get any royalties until the publisher has covered the initial costs (including any advance paid) and made a profit.
I suspect he won't see any more money from the publication for quite some time yet unless it becomes a runaway best seller.

I’ve been married for over 25 years & I’ve never met either of my sister in laws without my husband being there. He’s never met up with my brother without me being there.
The people who I know who do things separately with their in-laws knew them before they got together with their partners.

You make a great point here, although I think I see things a little differently. I think Kate likely would have made more of an effort with Meg on her own had she felt at ease with Meg’s intentions of marrying Harry in the first place. I think all of us saw through the phony bologna character of MM in the televised engagement interview with Harry, which was was full of un-truths and displayed Meg’s overbearing personality, while Kate had the unfortunate experience at seeing her for who she was firsthand. I don’t know about you, but when someone brazenly lies...it’s over. I will no longer believe anything else they have to say to me and I want nothing more to do with that person. That reason alone is enough for me to see why Kate did not reach out to Meghan.

On top of that, Kate had 3 Littles to raise, and it’s not as though Meghan was young and naive — she was practically middle aged coming into the RF! Sure, it would have been nice to have help navigating the course into adjusting to life in the RF from someone who knows firsthand how difficult it would be in her position, but given the manipulative character of MM — she was right to steer clear of her! Good for you, Kate! 👏👏👏

Thank you for that info. 😘
That’s what happens when I don’t google first. 😁

I’ve read that. Didn’t see any mention of H&M declining offers to help Thomas, though. Do I need to book a visit to Specsavers?

Here you go - Tumblr has a full version 😊

I think this article has misjudged the public’s feeling regarding Harry, I don’t think many give a shiny shite if he ever comes back.

https://www.12ft.io/https://www.dai...wn-great-warmth-generosity-Meghan-Markle.html

From the end of of the article:

"Harry and Meghan left Britain supposedly to be free, but I have my doubts. For the truth is that a combination of Covid-19, a new mood of disgust at conspicuous excess, and the air of contention that seems to dog them wherever they go mean they have not yet been the success they hoped in America.

To maintain their lifestyle – the houses, servants, cars, chauffeurs – they will need to make millions from their appearances.

They need the work. But as one studio executive told The Mail on Sunday yesterday, the Sussexes are just too controversial to employ right now."

Aww how sad, never mind.

Thanks I hope you didn't think I was being annoying but there are a lot of misconceptions around about how publishing works. Authors (unless they are extremely successful and high profile) have very little say on anything once they've signed the contract. People always think that they have more power than than they really do over the product.
