The Crown wanted scenes of bottles being thrown at the Queen, John Lydon tells Sex Pistols court case

The producers of The Crown tried to invent scenes of a rioting crowd pelting the Queen with bottles during her Silver Jubilee procession, John Lydon has claimed.

The former Sex Pistols frontman said he refused to allow God Save the Queen to be used in the Netflix drama after learning how it was to be used.

"It was a very perverse interpretation of the history of the Jubilee," Lydon told the High Court, where he gave evidence as part of a dispute with his former bandmates.

It is the latest accusation of falsehood to hit the show, which has been accused of a series of inventions that portray the Royal family in an unflattering light.
On June 7 1977, the day of the Jubilee procession, the Sex Pistols staged a publicity stunt to perform God Save the Queen on a boat down the Thames.
Lydon said he was open to the idea of the song being used on The Crown’s soundtrack.

But in his witness statement to court, he said: “Then it turned into the producers wanting to use actors for a re-enactment of [the] famous boat trip.

The producers of The Crown wanted to distort the history of the day and depict me as a political protester and to show scenes of protest in front of the Queen in the middle of her Jubilee celebrations. Events that simply did not happen.

“The story that they presented was with the Queen in despair in her carriage, and all those ugly scenes on the streets of crowds fighting and chucking bottles, whilst others were celebrating the Queen.

“Nobody was rioting, and here is my real, serious problem with it. This never happened. This is a lie about history.

“There were no bricks and bottles thrown at the Queen… it’s a lie. The only people making any demonstration at all about the Royal family that day were the Sex Pistols on a boat trip down the Thames - lovely songs of protest in front of the Houses of Parliament, and that’s it."

“They can mish-mash history all they want, but they can’t do it using my name,” he said
I love John Lydon! Good on him for telling the truth

Robert Jobs on now on GB news

Let's spare a thought for William in all of this circus. I remember him being born and the pics of him as a toddler then young boy, then man. He was a shy child who wasn't comfortable with the press cameras from a young age. He then suffered the grief of losing his mother at 15. Adolescence is always a difficult time but to have to cope with this loss whilst no doubt looking after his younger brother must've been hard.

The brothers were very close and close to their father as evidenced by video footage.

Fast forward to today. William has the, maybe burden, of kingship, a young family and dedication to duty.

He is obviously furious with H whilst at the same time mourning the loss of the once close relationship he had with him. And wondering what will happen next.

More William, less H, please press

bleeping good for you John

I'm confused (not unusual) but has Hazno actually speculated that St Di was murdered? or is it more of a case of the Royal nasties pushing her away, withdrawing protection etc?
Just my 2 cents, part documented facts, part my opinion :
No, Harry didn't directly claim that she was murdered.
But it goes hand in hand with:
Fact: security was not taken away from her, she canceled it at the beginning of 1994.
Now the blame game:
She canceled security, because she felt "monitored", by the RPOs and felt watched by the courtiers who even when hired by her, apparently were loyal to Charles(yes, I know)
Also merching and freebies became a problem
She also constantly replaced her staff, which made her enemy's among the courtiers.

Then Harry blamed courtiers in Oprah.
And before that he blamed media for her death.

Opinion: This tit is happening because the RF when convinient participated in media muzzling(inquests in to her death, allowing the anti-paparazzi narrative, which is "true" only in UK and USA)

Precedent for the above:
Wills statement about the Bashir tactics, fuelling her paranoia
(background: courtiers were fired/accused of monitoring her after Bashirs tactics)
and yes Harry will get away with it, the cynical me sees the RF and the Spencers involved in this.
Not the book, but the constant media whining by Harry, has precedents from other members of RF.

I can see the lawyers for the royal family rubbing their hands with glee, or William's.

Actually, the more I think about it, I bet William is fuming, especially if he drags up their Mum's death.

I was going to post something else but it's far too private and was in the national news at the time, so I won't.

i sent in an email - but I didnt hear it - damn!!!!!
I only switched on at10.15

Bugger.

My email

Hi Dan & Tom,

eagerly awaiting Tom's book because he is known as a thorough and forensic biographer.

Will NOT be buying Harry's book. Did not buy 'Finding Freedom' or 'The Bench' either. Am thoroughly sick of the tawdry twosome and their disrespect for the Queen and also fed up of what appears to be their determination to destroy our Royal family.

1] When can we pre-order Tom's book?

2] After Harry's recent appalling behaviour will it now be a biography of Meghan AND Harry instead of just her? Let's face it, they have given him plenty of material to go at.

and

3] Have any members of the Royal Family or Royal Household given quotes/information to Tom?

Best Wishes

Chita
