Thinking about it again and maybe they think calling the baby Lilibet will allow them to piggyback any publicity surrounding the queen more so than they could have managed with a different name. She's got some big events coming up in the next year or 2 and this is a good way of getting attention off the back of those events.
 
My reaction were some softs "no, no, no" but I voted for "How dare they".
You can't drag your Nan pubically through the mud and then name a child after her...if they were close: fair enough.
Also find the whole "ThEy StOlE ChArLotTeS NaMe" a bit meh... her first name is Charlotte, why should only William get the right to name his daughter after their dead mother?

I had a peek at the rave thread and they're saying how Princess Charlotte's full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana and no one kicked up a fuss about Prince William and Catherine sucking up to the Queen. 🤦‍♀️ Erm, how about because Elizabeth and Diana are her MIDDLE names, they didn't give her either as a FIRST name. Plus, Lilibet is the Queen's nickname and she's still alive, you know! Maybe no one will call her by it now but it's still associated with her.

I actually really like the name BUT how fucking dare they. They have nothing but hate for the RF yet now they want to try and lick the Queens arse. 100% they are being written out of the will as we speak.

The thing is they have played a blinder. Because if the RF takes offence then people will say "look they are never happy. THe absolute CUNTS wanted to pay tribute to their gangan and was rejected"

Anyway I loved the shade from W&K's account. Congratulating them without a mention of the titles or her full name

I think the choice of name is a big “Fuck you” to the BRF because they’ve been told to stop using their titles. Remember when they left and after being told to stop marketing themselves as “Sussex Royal”, said something along the lines of “no-one owns the word ‘royal’”. I bet this is their petulant way of saying “Oh! You think you can take our titles away?! No-ones owns a name, we can call our daughter the queen if we want!”.

how THOUGHTFUL of the private couple to think of the Queen and letting the name have new life. What a SELFLESS pair they are. The Royal Family will be begging for them to return simply so the name ‘Lilibet’ will be heard once more.

This latest news is making me feel SO enraged!
 
Lil Betty and Archie are going to spend their lives being trotted out in the media whenever a Cambs child will get even one line in the press. It's a long road, Saint Diana needs to be de-Sainted to take away another thing they can name drop, and the titles need to go.
The US media will be on their side, the idea that it's irrelevant is very.. optimistic.

It's the US media that created a majority of consequences for the monarchy in the aftermath of the Wales marriage, by playing exactly the game that the Harkles are playing-a popularity contest. It was bashing based on Oprah style emotivism, now race and social issues are added.

I kind of agree with Diana needing to be de-Sainted. At the very least she needs to literally rest in peace now. She passed over 20 years ago and people need to move on. Even now, whenever there's a picture of Camilla on the RF instagram, all of the comments are saying Diana. Like Camilla and the Queen were honouring volunteers during the pandemic and none of the comments were focusing on their work, but on Diana. Why? Same with anything William and Catherine release on social media, it's always "Diana would be so proud".

If the surrogacy stuff is true (which I believe it to be, I know not everyone does), you can bet the US media will take the Harkles side. They'll say that the RF is so dated and are against surrogacy when Harry and his wife were just trying to "modernise" :sick:
 
Doesn’t the Queen have to approve the names before they are announced? And the child is going to be forever known as Lily so I doubt the Queen is upset. If anything it’s a way of Harry and Meg letting their grandmother know that they admire and honor her even during the current family squabbles.
