Has the actor who plays Ryan been in much other tv/film/theatre since series 2, if there was always the intention to do a 3rd series and wait for him to reach a suitable age, seems a big ask for someone who would have been under 10 at time of last series, given how much changes during tween/teen years and pressures from friends/school. Probably shows how much faith SW has in the people she works with, like how she frequently uses the same actors in her shows.

I have a theory that Catherine’s son, Daniel, is possibly more linked to Becky’s death, and SA prior to her death, than I first thought.
He’s so vile about her, despite her having since died by suicide (calling her a slag etc) and I appreciate he probably was extremely hurt by Catherine saying she wished it was him, but it doesn’t add up imo. Also why would she say that, she must know he’s rotten otherwise why would that thought even be in her head?
I can’t help but wonder what the reason was to show the woman shooting her son, then Catherine comforting her afterwards, like a pre warning that Catherine will find herself thus conflicted.
Plus he’s with Anne now which sits slightly uncomfortably with me, like he’s purposely gone after someone incredibly vulnerable and who was, albeit different circumstances, abused by TLR.
Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree but he just seems like a wrong’un.

James Norton was on Graham Norton last night and he told a story about how a woman once went up to him and said, “Ooh that Tommy Lee Royce. He sure makes my valley happy…” 😂
I mean I get it. 😆

I do personally try to concentrate my attraction on James Norton, not his character. But I respect her views. 😆

It's like Jamie Dornan in The Fall, same situation. Sexy as duck actor playing a psycho.

Catherine's ex husband didn't feature at all in series 2 so they must of brought him back in this series for a reason

I just binge watched Series 1 & 2 and wondered where the hell the ex husband had gone in S2. He wasn’t even mentioned really.

It’s such a good series and the warmth and pain that Sarah Lancashire exudes in her character is sublime. She’s strong but she’s broken. The episode where they had a party for her birthday, and she was explaining to the ex why she didn’t want to celebrate her existence because her child was dead had me in bits.

Yes to Jamie Dornan being a sexy woman hating psycho. Absolutely abhor his character but he’s so bloody dreamy 😍 Thankfully, he’s not typecast so I can enjoy the other characters he’s played, NOT Mr Grey

Personally I can’t stand TLR and really can’t take to him at all. He’s a good actor, but I can’t find him attractive. I think it’s maybe because of the way he speaks to/about women, idk.

Whereas Jamie Doran in the fall, yeah I totally fell in love with him and I was on his side 🤣. I know he was killing women too, but he kind of did it in this enchanting & calm way 😂

Different strokes for different folks re: murderers I reckon.

^ Me everytime the intro music starts

Just finished watching the entire thing for the first time and boy am I obsessed. My mums been on at me to watch it for years - I tried to watch it previously but the policewoman getting run over repeatedly by TLR in series 1 disturbed me enough to quit watching. Decided to give it a try again now since it was starting again (skipped that policewoman scene this time!) and finished it all in the space of a few days. I'm from the North West and used to work up near Huddersfield a few years ago, so it's nice to recognise lots of the place names.

Also does anyone else miss the little old police station they worked in during s1 and s2? Now they're in a big shiny glass building - it feels weird to see them all in a posh police station.
