If they find Joanna’s body/some evidence she was killed, the police will probably think the teacher killed Joanna, at least at first. They’ll likely Occam’s razor it - the teacher is an angry abuser so it’ll look like it’s him. Catherine asked Joanna’s parents whether she was having an affair & if she does some asking around, e.g. to Joanna’s daughters and to the neighbours, she will find out about Faisal. Unless Faisal is really stupid and insists Joanna escaped to someplace faraway or accurately tells them what clothes he last saw her in (which would be the clothes she was murdered in - the teacher didn’t know what she was last wearing) which would line up with the clothes that are missing, once they find out about the murder, the police will probably think the teacher discovered the affair and then killed Joanna in a rage. That video Faisal’s daughter’s took shows the teacher flipping out at Faisal before the police told him about the murder & after Joanna was dead, which could easily be interpreted as him being on edge having just murdered Joanna (unless there is something in the video that looks sus)/at encountering the other man

Even if they find Faisal’s prints at the scene, even if they find some evidence that he and Joanna were conspiring to kill the teacher, unless forensics can determine Faisal did it, it’ll still look like the teacher killed her. On the other hand, maybe the police won’t know for a while that she’s dead as it’s possible the teacher will get rid of the body, thereby destroying the evidence/making it look like it was him (esp. if her remains are found later), although he would have an alibi for the actual murder

Either way, it could all fall apart when the pill packet results come in, but given Joanna’s parents told Catherine the teacher gets rid of the diazepam, it could even pan out like Faisal admits to giving Joanna the pills & the police think the teacher finding out about that could have been the trigger for killing Joanna.

As far as getting off the drugs charges go, Faisal could say the Knezevics have been blackmailing him from the start, although dunno how he’d not lose his career over that even so, and the police could probably trace back CCTV to prove the Knezevics weren’t on the scene until later on

I feel like Faisal could nearly get away with everything depending on how he plays his cards
 
I'm not sure Faisal will get away with it , like series 1 and 2 he's the side character who wouldn't be your typical criminal but don't deserve to get away with it

he won’t actually get away with it, like I think he’ll probably duck up eventually, but I think it could go on for quite a while like with Kevin and John Wadsworth in S1 and 2.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the Faisal/Joanna/teacher plot overlaps with the TLR plot - in S1 the main crime being investigated did, and in S2 it didn’t really. The Knezevics, esp the two young men, would be the link (other than Catherine)
