Jurgen! My favourite.

I wish they would stop with these structural challenges, though. It's getting very boring watching everyone make gingerbread year after year.
Yes me and my colleague said the same yesterday! I find the challenges when they have to make say three kinds of bread rolls, or a three tier cake that has to be decorated a certain way, much more interesting than these challenges which are more about engineering than baking. It got boring when they tried to comment on every person’s identical gingerbread.

I hate the gingerbread repetition too, and I can’t bear the taste of it so I find it hard to get excited about what they make.

Also, might just be me, but any challenge where it’s more about modelling and they have to keep touching everything makes me feel a bit queasy. It’s the same when they make bread or pastry and don’t take their rings off:sick:

THE RINGSSSSSSSS, dear christ this is my pet hate with so many chefs like scrubby Oliver, sliming their hands all over a raw chicken with their wedding rings on, WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU ANIMAL

Yeah I'm a bit put off by the really structure heavy challenges. It seems to become more about how creative, good at engineering they are than how good the bake is. Always makes me think I would have absolutely no idea what to do if I was faced with a challenge like that! 😅 Plus let's be honest, most of them look a bit tit 🤭
I don't know that much about baking but I'd love to see them do more technique based challenges and bake things that you'd actually want to eat!

Are subtitles not working for anyone else? Mine aren't showing up + I can't rewatch on 4od because they never have subtitles on catch up
I’ve been trying since Wednesday to watch it on Catch Up! I get it thanks to a device that masks which country you live in, but it doesn’t always work properly, humph!

I think the right person went this week. Was quite shocked that the man from the first week went when he did as he didn’t seem to be doing too badly. Had to laugh when the lady’s rocking horse collapsed, my mum said she should have just changed her favourite childhood toy to a puzzle. I’m not feeling Jurgen, seems he has his fans but hmmm, just can’t warm to his for some reason. There isn’t a standout for me this year as there has been previously.

This is what I really hate about Bake Off The Professionals. There is a big focus on the modelling aspect of it but then the judges don’t take much interest in it when it’s finished but if the modelling elements collapses the contestant seems to get marked down for it?!

That’s my pet hate!! There is so much grime and germs under your rings, especially if you don’t take them off to wash. Feel queasy just thinking about it

At first glance I wondered if our little Oktoberfest hats were in honour of Juergen 😂
Is that what they are?! I thought it was for St Paddy’s Day which made we wonder 1) is it always in October? and 2) it’s gone on for longer than a day!

Thank GOD someone answered Jurgen’s phone call this time 🤣
Did his son answer and he said ‘hello this is Jurgen’?

Did anyone see this 😲

Reminds me a teeny bit of, who is it, Christoph Waltz back in the day maybe

Cappucciiineeurrrgh - I haven't watched Extra Slice yet but I'm guessing Jo or Tom will have fun with this one! I can't warm to Freya but her bakes are undeniably good.
Guisseppe is the first contestant I've noticed to have his children's faces blurred - fair play to him for that. Great Baker too and he seems fun and a decent person.
Jurgen is adorable - he makes me smile. He comes across very sincere.
I'm allergic to Lizzie: she's trying too hard to be "a character".
And I'm finding Maggie far too jolly hockey sticks to enjoy her, though I must admit I felt for her when she got upset. I could just do with hearing her voice less 😁

This is extremely petty but would Lizzie not get her hair fixed if she’s going to be on TV?
Noooo, she's too quirky you know!

I'm with your mum. I said to my OH that they should just say their favourite toy was a Lego brick hahaha
