Many bolognese ragu recipes include milk, it makes the sauce rich and silky, but Gizzi's inclusion of chopped liver is a big nope for me

I thought it was quite legit, one of those things you can argue over e.g. red or white wine. Haven’t seen celery salt before. It looked nice but hardly the groundbreaking recipe she was making out it was going to be. I guarantee a recipe for bolgonese on the bbc good food website will be pretty much identical.

Yes I use milk, chicken livers and pancetta - I do the Nigel Slater recipe with a few tweaks.

The milk counteracts some of the acid in the wine and should be whole milk. It’s a game changer for me and makes the sauce less watery

She also made out ‘you lot’ (her followers) were demanding this bolognese recipe from her…we were not. She said she was making a bolognese and put up three options - this one, a veggie one and one that takes hours and hours to make. The people voted for the simple recipe.
She is so desperate to be seen as groundbreaking and superior and in demand but in reality, she’s not doing anything that isn’t already being done and she’s a B list celebrity cook at best.

In her latest post she claims “she couldn’t afford a roast” so made toad in the hole with all the trimmings from a roast dinner instead. What planet is she on. Yes, I know she isn’t going to go and buy a cheap chicken from Aldi because she’s into sustainable meat (which is absolutely fine) but I can’t believe she couldn’t afford a £17 organic chicken. And even if she couldn’t, why make a point of saying she couldn’t afford it? To be relatable? To get attention?

Yes, I think that’s why it’s irked me - even if 3/4 of her escapades are gifted, she has a privileged lifestyle and should choose her language more carefully. She can hardly make out she’s on the breadline.

I bet she isn’t offered all of her gifted restaurant trips either - she probably calls them up and says she wants to dine there and will give them some Insta exposure in return for a free meal. She just isn’t relevant enough to be sought after as an influencer.
