I’m all for self-confidence but does she really have to be so bloody self-congratulatory ALL the time. She’s having a skin treatment (not fillers, apparently, but I’ve noticed she looks younger) and feels compelled to let us all know that “this is why my skin looks so amazing”.

I don’t know anyone that would speak like that. Wouldn’t you say, “this is why my skin looks so healthy-looking/youthful/clear/well cared for/glowy”.

She is her own one-woman fan club.

What are the ‘several’ restaurants she opened? I remember The Nitery which was a pop up and that was it. And she wasn’t the person cooking there every day - a bloke was head chef
---
Stagiers are essentially 1 weeks unpaid work experience in a restaurant. I wouldn’t be bragging about those to defend my credentials. It’s a bit like someone trying to say they’re a serious actor saying how they were a background extra in a Hollywood film.

Anyone know who she had the outburst with??

In her defence, cheffing/ the food world is very sexist and male dominated. I’ve seen and heard more than a few well known male chefs bully female chefs resorting to cheap comments about boobs and brains.

Added with this, she’s clearly very insecure at present as her career is not what it was and she’s got defensive over something.

I read it as she’s owning her defensiveness and apologising.. which is more than most men would do.

She’s had a few failed pop ups. Get a grip Giz, you’re not Anthony bleeping Bourdain.

also, I’ve never seen a more coke fuelled post than this. Get help.
---
She talks too much. Go out and do some proper cooking! Open a restaurant in Brighton - people will swarm to it.
1) they wouldnt
2) too much hard work. She’s an influencer, not a chef.

Everything she posts is so negative or combative. She’s got so many chips on her shoulders. If you have detractors, the best way to prove them wrong is to get your head down and do the work. She’s all talk - everything she mentions is things she’s done in the past (and hugely overstated, at that). If you’re that good, just get on and work hun. Stop comparing yourself to others, get off your arse and work.

Gotta say, as much as I feel she is often a grief tourist, I do feel for her with this Johnny guy. They seemed to really be friends (for once) and cancer is a bastard. I hope she’s alright.
Yes, in fairness to her, I thought her tribute post to Johnny was quite lovely. I can’t remember the details but there was one instance of classic Gizzi smugness but on the whole, it was touching and well-written for someone who normally writes like they’re drunk.

Agreed. It seemed like a genuine friendship, and here, she isn’t out to impress or gain anything. It must be awful for her.
