It’s totally irrelevant. Who actually cares? I’m saying this as someone with zero interest in sex/ relationships/ attraction. It’s very private to me and not interesting. It’s not something I’d talk about in real life, and I’d never describe myself as asexual, as I hate labels, and I don’t feel anything in common with the self obsessed LBGTQ+++ bunch.
It makes absolutely no sense to me (or most sane people) why anyone who has no interest in sexual attraction/relationships would wish to draw attention to or ‘celebrate’ this fact about themselves. Surely they’d want to distance themselves from organisations that actively celebrate sexuality? What was the motive for tagging this private experience onto the TQ+ bunch? It’s not as though someone who is ‘asexual’ has ever suffered oppression or unequal rights as a result of this. As for discussing it in the workplace, it’s an attempt to yet again bring up the subject of sexual preferences/proclivities and to force everyone to take part/have an opinion when most people don’t give a tit and just want to fulfil their employment obligations.

Hi all,

does anyone know much about this company? Wear your values. Ethically-made feminist apparel and gifts. – Black & Beech
there's a few items i'd probably wear and their manifesto seems promising but i'm not sure if they're aimed at the LGBTQIA+++++++++++++ (anyone but biological women) and wondered if anyone else had a view?
Was all looking positive until this:

I like some of their clothes. However, I just found a tweet from a year ago saying they support trans charities and also pointing out that this pair of PJs features Marsha P. Johnson

Exactly. I’d feel really really uncomfortable in a workplace that was pushing and promoting all this nonsense. I’d actually consider it prying into my personal life. I’m very much of the opinion that my personal life has nothing to do with work, and everyone should be entitled to keep private matters to themselves.
I read the article, and could not relate to that woman at all. There seem to be so many divisions on this “ACE” spectrum and stupid made up words because it doesn’t seem it can really be defined.
I totally agree about the aligning with LGBTQ+, completely senseless. I have no sexual orientation and so I have zero in common with them. I don’t want to “celebrate” or draw attention, just get on with my life. I don’t feel defined by it, I’ve always been like it, it’s just how I am and it’s zero relevance to anyone else, as it’s hardly going to affect them. I honestly never give it a second thought, and certainly don’t want to be defined or share my private feelings with anyone.

Their role in society:
- erode women’s rights
- confuse and sometimes permanently damage the lives of children with mental health challenges
- make women feel unsafe in female spaces
- gross out anyone with eyes on social media

What did I miss?
Get their rocks off at the obvious discomfort - and sometimes sheer terror - of women.

Does anyone else find they have zero patience with a lot of life these days?

Just a small example, chatting to an acquaintance and she said she had to work in London (2hrs away) one day a week. She said it was fine as she got to read a book and got out of kids' bedtime then said her daughter joked that she was 'looking after Daddy'. A couple of years ago I would have laughed but now I'm just left thinking 'my god, it's everywhere'. Girls are consciously and subconsciously taught to look after men at such a young age. It drives me mad.

I stayed at Premier Inn this week...pride vinyl stickers on the doors near reception. It's a bloomin' place to sleep at night whilst on a trip, why does it need to pander to anyone. It didn't have a lift though, so if you are a wheelchair user, you'd struggle!

Poor woman :( Such a talented writer and massively brave to jeopardise her career by speaking out

Vox is a brilliant book. Poor woman to have to deal with all that nonsense just for having a view (the correct view). I've already bought her other books but haven't had time to read them yet.

I don’t want to know about my colleague’s sex lives - I don’t want to know about my friends even, big ick factor there. When did people stop growing up and forget that private lives are private for good reasons. There is a new guy in my office, camp as Christmas, but I’m sure we would all be mortified if he turned up in a harness or with one of those puppy masks, and my company walks for pride (deranged as it is now), or announced he was in a polycule. And having a parade for not shagging, I know people feel left out but this is ridiculous…

I bought "VOX" on the strength of a recommendation on Tattle. I haven't regretted it - it is a very important book.

I used to be a Speech and Language Therapist and know the importance of communication; socially, mentally, emotionally. Christina Dalcher picked up on something significant (something that had particularly troubled me about the Afghan women who are not allowed to speak in public, and who must teach their daughters that their voices MUST NOT BE HEARD).

How long before - even in their homes - they are not allowed to speak without male permission? How will their children learn to talk? Will they be allowed to comfort a sobbing infant by singing? Or will they just be able to hum?

When speech is curtailed, writing can't be far behind - Afghan women are not allowed to be educated now. There are plenty of men in the west who would be quite happy for women's voice and thoughts to be similarly restricted. At one time I would have laughed at the prospect of this as being impossible IRL - but now it is obvious that it is a very real threat.

Exactly!

The only reason I can think of for even speculating about someone's sexuality is if you are attracted to them, when you might want to find out if they are a) single and b) attracted to people of your sex. Otherwise it is none of your business, and there's no reason why you would want to make it your business.

They don't want money from the likes of us. And I'm happy not to give them any. It's a shame because I like a lot of their stuff. Wonder if companies every give any thought to how much custom they lose due to the stance they take on certain things.
Sickly kids on a lifetime pathway to medication tend not to have jobs that pay decent salaries. Middle aged women whose kids have left home tend to have a better level of disposable income though 🤷‍♂️

The jury in the Barbie Kardashian case has been sworn in here in Ireland. All through the article is she/her then the clown photo alongside it. He threatened to rape and kill female prison staff in the women's prison he is housed in. This person should never be free, they are a danger to every woman in the country, his mother is in hiding for her own safety and the female social worker he attacked may never work again
As the social worker was driving down the motorway, Kardashian sat in the back of the car reached forward and tore off the social workers eyelids and then throttled her
I have repeatedly contacted government ministers to question him being housed in a women's prison, most ignored all letters, some wrote back saying it was permissible in law to house him there as he identifies as a woman.
