Jamie is at least posting unfiltered pictures of the reality of what their situation looks like right now as opposed to Gemma using that beige ‘everything’s perfect’ filter with so much staging of the baby and her to give off this unrealistic vibe. It’s like Instagram vs reality.

Looks like she’s been moved from a room onto a ward as well. Which mush be hard just after giving birth and of the baby needs a bit help. It would be crap for anyone but think it will have completely thrown Gemma who is used to being so isolated.

Looks like he’s on antibiotics so thinking maybe meconium aspiration syndrome.

She will be so unprepared for her birth not being anything short of perfect. Hopefully he’s on the mend and home soon. Gemma is in for a shock tho as she won’t be getting rest. It won’t be loads of baths and her recovering. It will be all round the baby. Hope she has support outside Jamie. She doesn’t appear to have any friends which is sad x

Was it around New Year when she announced and was due in May? Hence it didn't seem very long

Oh yes this is true

I think because when I was pregnant, I'd found out at the end of August and then had mine in May two weeks late it felt like a lifetime, mine also had swallowed meconium due to being distressed, I feel sorry for her its a horrible thing to have to go through although it seems hers didn't end up in NICU which is good.

(yes sorry to those who hate pregnancy talk I don't have a new baby or even a baby so can't put it in the birth chat 😂)

This is just what happens. You give birth and then you are moved onto the ward, usually within a few hours, that’s what it’s like at all the hospitals round here anyway. Not great but no special treatment for the queen of beige I’m afraid.

It's pretty standard to be moved onto a ward after birth, nobody's gonna know what happened until she says

I think in a strange way this will be good for Gemma to realise that having a baby is not all dressing them in cute baby clothes and having cuddles. Like others have said it’s a harsh reality that I don’t think she has taken much time to consider but I really hope baby is doing good. She’ll be getting great help from ward staff on feeding, burping, changing, soothing. I went through a similar thing and while it’s not always great being in hospital - I went home with much more confidence after all the help from the midwives/doctors that I wouldn’t have had if straight home shortly after birth. Plus all your meals are made for you plus no washing up! A new mothers dream if not in the dream setting.

It’s a shock to the system for sure you’ve so many midwives etc to help when your in hospital for a few days. Once you get home it’s all you and tbh wouldn’t be surprised if she’s left to do most of it herself.

Where I am one of the hospitals has private rooms and the other has wards. So people like to get into the one where you get your own room 😂 x

Complete dream! I’ve been in hospital quite a lot this past year with my baby for one thing or another. It was lovely having meals cooked and the help of staff, felt like I actually got a break 😂 we also stayed for a while when my first was born and I felt a lot more confident when I went home as I was breastfeeding, I got so much support in hospital but found when I got home I was on my own.

Glad to see they’re all now going home at last. Wish she’d turn off the filters, baby’s are so gorgeous don’t want a filter on them!

I am genuinely so happy for her, I think she lost herself very much so when she lost her dad! As much as we’re not all fans of Jamie, Speaking from experience, I don’t think he’s abusive etc I think he’s looking after her and slightly over protective which can be looked at as controlling but some people need that and also want it! As much as the beige grid needs to go I genuinely (as sometime who’s been trying to have a baby for a long time and it’s not happening) am very very happy for them!

Does Jamies stories irritate anyone else? ‘Whilst we’ve been away’. Mate your fiancee has been in hospital after having your child, you have not been on holiday 🤦‍♀️ Also, would he even have been away? My husband was sent home straight after I had my baby even though I had had a spinal for my stitches and couldn’t even move to look after my own baby so surely Jamie wouldn’t have been allowed to stay on the ward for days with her 🤷🏻‍♀️

In the first story where he’s “multitasking” the baby looks awfully close to the edge of the table. All it takes is for the chair to move back a couple of inches whilst he’s rocking him & the baby will be on the floor! Don’t understand why he can’t put the chair on the floor and rock it with his foot, that’s what I used to do
