he’s staying there until Christmas to practice for the Christmas special even though they recorded it last week. But he knows Gem is so dim she won’t notice. She still thinks the Sunday results show is live and that’s why he can’t come home

I’ve always got the impression he’s not really too bothered by the dogs - while he doesn’t mind them, they are Gemma’s dogs. I don’t think he has a major bond with them..

but his girlfriend and little girl will be really upset by this for the second time this year surely he’d want to be there for them. I’m sure they have a mirror at home for him to admire himself

I’m not a dog fan, but if my partner was and was about to say goodbye to a second doggy they had had around for a very long time, I’d be there for them in a heartbeat. Never mind your own little girl who will be very upset and old enough to need support and consoling.

There’s loads of things you do for your partner in a loving committed relationship that aren’t necessarily your bag, but you do because you love them.

Don’t come at me, I’m not him nor am I defending him but I do think he’s less bothered about it. He genuinely might have work commitments this week in the run up to the final. We def don’t see everything that goes on behind the scenes. But I still would have probably tried to go home, even for 24 hours!
