I watched it on Saturday. Gorka came across quite well I thought, less grumpy than he can otherwise appear. His parents also make an appearance. They don't seem to speak a word of English, Gorka had to translate between them and Gio/Anton. That must make it slightly painful with Gemma, Mia, etc.

That just makes it even stranger they’re not teaching Mia any Spanish

I don't disagree that Mia and later Thiago need to learn some Spanish, but it's a two way street and the fact that madre & padre Marquez (who are adults in their 50s) don't bother to learn even basic English...

That relationship is doomed. Those kids will never know their grandparents.

She would probably learn if she was staying with them for a while. Tis strange the grandparents can’t speak any English at all tho

I get what people mean about a two way street for his parents not knowing English but if they don’t know any at all it will be so much harder for them to learn than the kids

yip it's easier for kids to pick it up, especially with Spanish being Gorkas first language.

In Asian shop's ect, kids are fluent in both English and Indian/Pakistani/Chinese ect from toddler's.

Its very embarrassing for G&G tbh.

Does Mia have bad speech compared to other children her age? I genuinely don’t have a comparison to know, she always sounds quite clear to me (despite the very thick Manc accent!)
