Gallstones

1
Hi all, what’s the longest any of you have gone without a attack?

I don’t want to jinx myself but since my first Attack last September, this is the longest I’ve gone. I think my last attack was around feb/March. Is this normal?
I’ve been properly diagnosed after various scans etc.

Once I understood what caused the attacks and controlled my diet/when I ate I went months without having an attack. I only then had an attack if I accidentally ate something or ate too close to going to bed.

I've just seen this on TikTok and wanted to ask if anyone had any experience on what she's saying. Nothing was mentioned to me when I had my gallbladder removed in September last year. My husband says it's rubbish and she's probably flogging the supplements 😂 but interested to hear if anyone knows about ox bile supplements and whether it's something I should be taking.

Hopefully that link works but if not, the page is 'Forty plus is fabulous' @sarahlawuk

I'm not in this age bracket so not sure if that would make any difference but I had my gallbladder removed 5 years ago (when I was aged 27) and I haven't taken any supplements, nor have I had a single issue since I had it removed

Thank you. I'm 36 so also not quite there yet but I suppose I've got a bit of an eye on the big 40!

Had a really bad attack last night, I’m almost 18 months after having my baby but I also had an attack the night I found out I was pregnant.
I didn’t know it was gallstones until I researched it this morning and it’s 1000% what I had
I would say the pain was 10/10 severe at my upper abdomen I was thrashing around in pain I nearly fainted I couldn’t see my ears were ringing and I was sweating this went on for about 2 hours, told the doc all this and he said it was diarrhoea? Anyone had trouble being diagnosed or been palmed off about it?

Yes I did mine was post pregnancy as well I had my first attack a couple of weeks after giving birth and they put it down to the pain of everything ‘going back together’. I went back a couple of months later after having a few attacks and reiterated that it was more painful than labour and thankfully they recognised it sounded like gall stones and referred me for a scan to confirm

I was 30 weeks pregnant and I woke up with stabbing chest pain couldn't breathe, called a&e and went in and was told indigestion. I asked my surgeon about that incident and his words was I definitely had this lurking for a while so it could have been.

I had a few bad nights where I was in agony mostly when I was post partum but I thought it was diarrhea which now I know it wasn't..... It wasn't until I had acute pancreatitis I went to the doctor, wish I went sooner as pancreatitis is cruel

Yep! If I’m honest even thou the pain was the most horrific pain I’ve ever felt, the doctors not listening to me was the worst part of it all. The bits of advice I’d give you is 1) demand the doctors book you in for a ultra sound 2) when the pain comes back to straight to a&e

Thank you for the advice.
I will be going straight next time it happens
