I agree its all about people and interaction between each other but although I do like this programme a lot my fave is Come Dine with Me possibly because the narrator is so funny!!Yes this.
The show is so far away from the realms of an overnight stay away from home it borders on the ridiculous.
I wonder if when they introduced the show they envisaged it to be an afternoon magazine type show that would run its course after a couple of years.
Guess they saw the bigger and bigger audiences it was attracting, bigged up all the negativity and it became the juggernaut it is: there is nothing more the GBP love more than a whinge and a moan, especially when they meet dozens of likewise thinkers online.
I love the show, I think celebrating the discovery of a hair and a inkling of dust is stupid but it doesn’t bother me, we know that’s coming, it’s all about the relationship between the contestants that I love .. all human life is there, and moreso.
It’s a very different feel from last week isn’t it! I’m just watching episode one and already I can’t see any full payments let alone overpayments
Yes the ladies were lovely but if we booked that place ourselves we’d never get to meet them. There is a market for that kind of place, it’s an actual flat as opposed to room in a Travel Lodge/Premier Inn but the facilities have to be kept right up there, stains on towels, TVs that don’t work (well they did actually but no instructions had been left out), leaking toilet are just not on.
there was one from Bath Lodge Castle and the owners were horrendous. He was posh and arrogant and superior with it, she tried to be posh but a Saff London accent crept through when she wasn't concentrating. They had met at an airport when he was on his way to see his then g/f they seemed a mis matched couple but very unpleasant they had that in common thats for sure.I was watching an episode I’d had on my planner for ages the other day. I think the place was called Brockton Hall, really beautiful, gorgeous rooms. But the owner & sidekick were horrible, in the episode where they discuss feedback/payment they just wouldn’t accept anything. The owner reminded me of the old woman in the Goonies too
Was that the one where he sat at a breakfast table when it was their turn, and was reading the newspaper, found that quite uncomfortable.
That's it downright rude and incredibily entitled having said all this it was probably one of the most entertaining ones as they were so deplorable.
He was absolutely vile. He was obsessed with class and constantly belittled the couple that had worked up from nothing and bettered themselves. Awful, awful man.
Yes he was a monster but his wife wasn't really posh I would put money on that she had had elocution lessons but slipped into a brash Saaafff London accent now and again. Couldn't really work out why he was with her maybe she catered for some weird sexual taste that he had or something peculiar.
Same with "Come dine with me" some old episodes have disappeared . I wonder if they are not politically correct enough these days
