I would love to see Clemmie properly punished for her behaviour- but sadly I simply can’t see it happening. The bar is set very high for striking off healthcare professionals; it does however surprise me that she’s never touted herself as a private midwife, and raked it in from her gormless admirers.
 
Private midwives can’t just do the odd shift (well, possibly they can if working in a private setting but I assume you mean an independent midwife?).

They need to be on call a lot. It wouldn’t fit with the holidays! Although I’m sure there are now enough people living in and around Ramsgate with the money for one who would jump at the chance.
 
So I listened to the Kelechi Okafor interview part two also listened to the first - when she talks about not being listened to during childbirth she also says" it wasn't just from white nurses whatever but also from black midwifes as well. It made her realise that everyone's taught from the same textbook. "

I had a look at independent midwives in my area.

Wait sorry if I’ve been silly and missed a beat but she’s now an independent midwife? She’ll definitely be earning more than FOD then which probably explains his recent unhinged behaviour re “providing for his family” - frail little man with a frail little ego.

I don't want to say too much, because there appears to be a victim of threats and harrassment at the centre of this latest post and I wouldn't want things to be made worse for them.

If the victim is reading here, please at the very least keep a diary of what is happening if you aren't doing so already. Dates/times, names, details, quotes, screenshots, witnesses, any other evidence.

The person recieving the harassment is somebody who supports the Instagram page stating that clemmie should lose her midwifery badge , they haven't given details of specifics of who it is.

The people doing the harassing are apparently clemmie, her family, her friends, work colleagues and fellow midwifes.

Oh my god, they are just beyond vile.

They hate the fact it’s finally catching up with them, and someone amazing has the balls to do it (go Tobecomfirmed’)👏

Meanwhile FoD will act like nothing has happened. Again.

I hope they’re shitting themselves.
I hope she/they get their comeuppance.
I hope her pin is removed.
I hope companies stop using them.

And most importantly, I hope women of colour are safer when giving birth.

The fact that Kings College Hospital have been celebrating BHM on their Instagram pages this month, do they not see the irony?

Why are they protecting her???
 
But is it going anywhere? Tobeconfirmed is a tiny account with little reach?
What worries me is this will cause more harm to the person who has reached out because they will know exactly who is stirring it up again and by the sounds of it cause that person more upset.

Not saying I don’t agree at all by the way, but I went to share it, it only has 72 likes and to be honest I’ve been under the instagram spotlight and had abusive messages and I’m not about to risk that again as it affected my mental health hugely.

Yes I guess so. I'm all for the podcast talking about it, but getting people to message the hospital etc is too much.
 
Weren't complainants told earlier this year that the case was still being investigated?

If the case is now closed, those who lodged an official complaint should be advised accordingly, and not left hanging.

Personally, I think it's pretty clear there's no intention of removing her from midwifery. If she were to be found unfit to practice now, three years on, there would be a whole other conversation to be had about why she had been allowed to carry on during those three years.
 
I think this is the issue as people don’t want to get involved as it can be seen as a witch hunt when in reality it’s wanting justice and she IS a danger to black mothers and babies in her care, which is incredibly worrying that she’s allowed to continue working as a midwife when women are at their most vulnerable? If I was a racist nanny who hated white children I doubt anyone would want me looking after their white child.

People need to be held accountable but these days can’t because they cry victim and that ‘everyone is after them’. But that is my view of it, I know everyone has different ones. I’d like to see her held accountable as I certainly wouldn’t have kept by job after making comments like she has.
